Wielding the Word as a Sword - Spiritual Tips 8

What I want to share here today is how to make your own dynamite prayers that are tailored to your situation and better than that... contain power because you allow the Holy Spirit to guide them.

Hi Freedom 1, hearingGod.tv. I just wanted to do a short video so you can learn to use the Word of God like a sword for any circumstance in your life.

Have you ever been passed a prayer that was dynamite? Have you ever been passed one that was 'wow' to your friend, but you didn't get anything out of it? Why?

I want to encourage you to get out of the mode of searching for the 'perfect pill' of a prayer that somebody else has made that worked great for their own specific needs. You have specific needs too. Those times that a prayer is powerful for you are because it lines up with what the Holy Spirit is doing for, in and through you already.

But isn't that like putting a puzzle together? You put all the edge pieces at the perimeter... all the tree pieces in this pile.... the fence pieces in this pile... So, that prayer you may have been passed that was good, may have been in the section you' were working on, but wouldn't you always like to hit the right piece every time?

You spend time with God in prayer, well what have you two been talking about? Let me share something I did...

I was coming under attack by the enemy. I began to ask the Lord to protect me and my family. I know that I need to stand on the promises of protection in the Word of God. So I need to focus on scriptures about 'Protection'. Why focus? Because our authority increases when we believe what we profess.

So I'm using a Topical Bible to hone in on verses about 'Protection'. As I'm reading through them, I'm noting verses that are really speaking to me... and they are speaking to me with that welling conformation in my spirit because it is the Holy Spirit showing me the weapons I need.

The verses noted were:
Psalm 145:20
"The LORD keeps all who love Him, But all the wicked He will destroy."

Psalm 37:17
"For the arms of the wicked will be broken, But the LORD sustains the righteous."

Revelations 3:10
"Because you have kept the word of My perseverance, I also will keep you from the hour of testing, that hour which is about to come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth."

Deuteronomy 33:27
"The eternal God is a dwelling place, And underneath are the everlasting arms; And He drove out the enemy from before you, And said, 'Destroy!'"

Each one of these verses has powerful truth for my situation, but now I'm going to personalize it so I can speak it for myself.

As I meditated upon the scriptures, I kept seeing the enemy's arms/hands being smashed off, so in putting it all together, this is the Holy Spirit-guided prayer I came up with:

Lord God, I thank you for Your hand upon our household of faith, all we set our hands to and those in our sphere of influence.
Almighty God, through the power of Your Son, Jesus' shed blood, I command that the arms of the enemy be broken and utterly destroyed, for You preserve and uphold us-- the righteous that trust in You.
I pray this in Jesus' name. Amen

Short, sweet and powerful for our need at that time. We all came into agreement and prayed that prayer together as a family. And as a family, we overcame.

Anticipating Freedom - Spiritual Housecleaning

In the process of Spiritual Housecleaning… let me do a recap of the precepts in the videos I've done thus far:

The enemy can access or oppress us through:

•Our sin (rebellion)

•The unrepentant sin of our forefathers (generational)

•Curses (including self imposed via Inner Vows)

•Negative beliefs, confessions or thoughts that align with the enemy and are opposed to the Truth in the Word of God

•Unhealthy or sinful soul ties

•Unhealed Wounds or Trauma in our soul

--------

Now I've walked you through much understanding to break cycles of wrong thought processes…. through empowering prayers to cut off curses or ties that pin doors open but the final frontier is removing the invader(s).

In Luke 4:18, Jesus declares,

"The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim release to the captives, and recovery of sight to the blind, to set free those who are oppressed, to proclaim the favorable year of the Lord."

Let me point out what is so very important that Jesus is declaring:

•Proclaim release…. the time is now.

•Sight to the blind… to heal.

•Set free the oppressed… deliverance.

•Proclaim year… the time is now.

In between "The time is now" is: to heal and to deliver!

Jesus, the spiritual King of the Spiritual Kingdom of Heaven… but all the people could see was oppression in the Kingdoms of Man.

Up until the time of Jesus, the law-- the temple --was the only way to keep clean from these spiritual 'invaders'. But through His ultimate sacrifice and example, He has GIVEN US everything we need to overcome. Nothing has changed in this book, but that HE has lifted us up with Him in authority and power and freedom if we so choose!

[Luke 10:19 "Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing will injure you."]

Deliverance is no different today then it was back then. The problem today is that [holding Bible] much of this has been added to or taken away at the users whim. Bad fruit, physical ailments, torments… you name it…. it's all ignored as opposition to abundant life. Instead of focusing on Healing and Deliverance, drugs are pushed…psychotherapy is pushed. The purpose of ministering deliverance is to set free those who are in bondage. Whether spiritual or physical… HE HEALED THEM ALL. So, why should we live life expecting any less?

We are to preach the gospel, to heal the sick and to deliver the oppressed or we are not following what Jesus has mandated for us!

[John 20:21, "Then said Jesus to them... as my Father has sent me, even so send I you."]

What does the oppression that cries out for the need of deliverance look like?

Have we become brainwashed by Hollywood?

Oppression is not an issue of being totally overrun by the demonic….

You've heard this before… that our bodies are 98% water… That we make the perfect home for usurpers of the glory of God:

Luke 11:24

"When the unclean spirit goes out of a man, it passes through waterless places seeking rest…"

[Do you not know that you are a temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? If any man destroys the temple of God, God will destroy him, for the temple of God is holy, and that is what you are." 1 Corinthians 3:16-17]

Derek Prince has said, "Demons continually seek to invade a person, but when the person is healthy spiritually, the spiritual "immune system" within the person identifies and attacks the demons, and they are not able to move in and take control. Any kind of unhealthiness or emotional weakness, on the other hand, makes a person vulnerable to demonic attack."

So it's important to seek out those areas in our life where there is not abundant life and discern what is holding us back? Is it our flesh that needs crucified or do we have an invader that needs cast out and the door healed and sealed by Jesus Christ?

If you were the enemy and you didn't want to leave your 'house' wouldn't you infiltrate the church and blind the people; discredit anything and everything that might get you evicted?

And so the 'church' normalizes oppression as something to expect in life. Let's face it… the 'church' at large does not want to deal with 'deliverance' because of lies believed. "Deliverance" to the 'church' is like potty talk… but I'm sorry, we all poop! Do we not all sin and fall short of the Glory of God? Didn't even Peter get a rebuke for aligning with the enemy?

[Mark 8:33 "But turning around and seeing His disciples, He rebuked Peter and said, "Get behind Me, Satan; for you are not setting your mind on God's interests, but man's."]

You've got to get it in your head that enemy access is a normal thing we struggle with in life. This isn't strange, this isn't new… we need to quit running away from deliverance!

As Jesus was speaking to the disciples at Passover… at that last supper He declared:

"I will not speak much more with you, for the ruler of the world is coming, and he has nothing in Me;.." John 14:30

Does the enemy have anything in you?

Question everything alongside of the Word of God… and get ready because the next videos in this series we will begin to expose the invaders and I will walk you through self-deliverance with encouragement that you can do this with others as well. His commission is your commission!

[John 14:12, "Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do, he will do also; and greater works than these he will do".]

Battlefield of the Mind - Discerning Thoughts

The Lord is leading me into a focus on the battlefield of the mind-- the final frontier...
In 2Corinthians 10:3 we read, "For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh."

If more people could pin the tail on the real donkey and understand why Jesus exclaimed "Forgive them Father, for they know not what they do"... mankind is under the prince and power of the air's influence.  As seekers of God, it is important to seek the difference in that man can activate thoughts by God or the enemy into the flesh.  One brings forth the Kingdom of God, and one aligns with the accuser of the brethren.

Let me back this up though because my heart is to exhort and teach believers, but why not include even a person that is in denial about God?  A person that says... "I looked for God but He never showed up"?  Wow, that's the best and most noticeable situation to be in... IF you are sincerely looking for answers.   The devil doesn't want you to make a decision for Jesus... perhaps all the other times you looked, the devil cleverly talked you out of how God was answering your prayers or speaking to you.  Now is the time to Pay Attention to your thought life.

After I went through a generational deliverance session... I was amazed how quiet my noggin was!  I used to have tons of thoughts always racing through my mind... always judging others... constant daydreams playing our scenarios of 'what to do next' or 'what should I have done' in past situations.  I hadn't realized how scatterbrained I had been... how much overtime my mind was doing, processing so many things at once.

Some time after I renounced all the sins that granted all that extra chatter in my head via the sins of my forefathers...  I was viewing an online exhibition of Tibetan artwork.  I was viewing the most horrid multi-armed, fang-faced, knife-wielding, blood-thirsty statue and I heard.... "Oh, it's beautiful" in my head.  HELLO... not my thought... no way.... no how!

I encourage you to get scientific in your pursuit about discerning your thought life.  Even those of you that have received Jesus as Lord and Savior...   do what the scripture says about holding everything captive.  (2Corinthians 10:5-6 “Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.”)  Go through one day with a hand-held recorder and speak these random thoughts & then by the end of the day you'll be able to identify what you know was You... vs. what was maybe a lightening bolt kind of thought that popped into your head and you are unsure.  Then consider the thought. If you have premonitions about things... know that the enemy could be sending those as well... that is a grey area the enemy likes to use as counterfeiting the prophetic in Yeshua.  I want to bring that up so you don't end up as operating as a psychic.  If you are seeking a relationship with Jesus above all else, He will keep you.... if you seek after hidden knowledge apart from Jesus and not inquiring with Him... you've got an open door for receiving information from familiar spirits, i.e. demons.

Obvious thoughts..... you will find blatant judgmental thoughts, crude thoughts, perverse ones....(Mark 7:22, Romans 1:29)  These thoughts oppose God... these are not you... these are the dead-ringers, the give-a-ways to the enemies devises.  You can agree with these thoughts and make them your own.  You can come into agreement with these thoughts and if a sin is welcome in your spirit...you'll always think it's you.  Ever agreed that you're ugly?  This is not from you... God says 'you were fearfully and wonderfully made' (Psalm 139:14) --and guess what, He's not a liar.

If a thought has birthed an action into sin by you and you find you have no conscience that it is contrary to God... it's because you have embraced it.  If you have embraced it but feel bad about it from time to time... consider the Holy Spirit is trying to drag you out of that pit you've dug for yourself.  The enemy does not like to be exposed... if you do not feel complete freedom in this supposed sin, if you have shame... look up, Jesus loves you, and you can be free.  If you can begin to say (Rom 7:15 ) "I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do"....and then monitor yourself, you'll begin to see the war that is going on in your mind.

One of the biggest mind-trips the enemy does is in getting you to birth sin from that initial thought.  Then, condemns you into thinking there is no forgiveness, no escape from that pit.  And this is where overcomers shine...  when that condemning thought enters your mind, when that sinful thought enters in.... an overcomer is one that recognizes the source, takes it captive saying "devil, I know it's you!" --- believing the word of God you speak, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." -- or scripture of your choice.   Binding that thought, command it to the pit, or the footstool of Jesus, and speak the opposite of what the devil was pushing in that thought from the word of God.... using that sharp sword.  Example:  The devil says "You remember last week you were so rotten... you screwed up so many times... you don't learn from your mistakes... you're just a hypocrite...", and on and on.  RIGHT THERE is the doorway... what are you going to do with that thought?  Well let me tell you... you recall the scriptures and target it just like Jesus used the Word of God against satan in the desert.  You say, "excuse me devil... if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous; and He Himself is the propitiation for my sins" (1John 2:1-2).   If you get attacked with a sexual thought.... "no devil, my body is a temple of the Holy Spirit."  Are you seeing how to take captive and combat?  The Word of God is our foundation... you seek it, you read it, you implement it and it builds every part of the  armor of God (Eph 6:11).

So I've kind of transitioned over to discerning thoughts for the believer in Jesus, but I want to say, there are many christians out there that receive Jesus but do not understand the importance of paying attention to our thought life.  They think receiving Jesus is enough and allow these terrible thoughts to manifest as terrible sins against fellow brothers and sisters in the Lord.

The biggest warning I have is that the devil will put in your mind a spirit of self-justification.  This is a 'religious spirit'.  Remember keep your friends close, but your enemies closer?  Well a religious spirit is one that twists the Word of God... like Eve dealt with in the Garden.  The base of it is spiritual... the enemy latches on to your bad self and gets you to justify the sin.  Gossip goes unheeded on our radars because... 'oh, that person is sinning-- it's okay to EXpose sin'.  Backbiting goes unheeded BEcause... 'they didn't return my book, therefore they aren't a person of their word'.  Attack of character based on doctrinal belief differences.... 'because after all, if you don't believe what I do, you must be a damned sinner because I know God talks to me, so you must be listening to the devil...'  This is the most dangerous stuff to entertain because christians open up their hearts to other christians and the wounds can be so deep as believers attack other believers.... the devil's favorite weapon of choice.... the same spirit that killed Jesus.

[prayer]

If you have a negative thought of a brother or sister in the Lord... if during this teaching your head has been a bed of mumbles railing against me... just stop & see it for what it is.  Stop and pray for that person... you are having those thoughts because the enemy wants to use you as a weapon.  The devil doesn't want you to free... doesn't want you to be an overcomer... c'mon and prove him eternally wrong!

Escaping the Pressure

Escaping the Pressure

When you walk in being an overcomer life radically changes.  You begin to be challenged on every front. The pressure builds not only from the enemy, but God's purifying fire as well, because it's how we escape the pressure that determines our 'peace' in Him.

What is this pressure that we have to endure?!  You know what I'm talking about... the financial leaps of faith, the physical attacks on our bodies, any relationships we have... absolutely everything needs covered in prayer now.  You find yourself repeating that line from the 'matrix' saying "Why, why didn't I take the blue pill?"  At times the intensity so great and no 'seasons of refreshing' in sight...we long to escape the pressure.

This is for all of you out there actively taking authority over every principality and power for the Lord Jesus Christ.  If you're not slamming this stuff at His direction beneath His footstool, this program isn't for you...you just won't understand.  If I could write the day to day details of my life...doing all the mundane requirements of life, the prayer shielding, caring for my family, the targets that the Lord has shown me to hit, the dominions I'm in the process of taking, the spiritual battles in the night and seeking the Lord in His word and finding the quiet time alone with Him Alone.... it could make a good tv mini series.

As you go on deeper with God more is required of you.  Your life must become like that Indiana Jones and the Holy Grail movie....where Indy was standing at that precipice... having done all things...with nothing left to do except for trusting what the instruction hint was... to go out in Faith.  And also notice in that movie that the whole while the enemy was right next to him... that's how it is for us.  Each step of the way the pressure is right there and we are called to live by faith in the word.

I want to go deeper now in illustrating this whole pressure and escapism thing, because it'll really get you to evaluate some of these weak points in your own life.

I'm gonna use the example of alcohol for this visual, but you need to take the precepts behind it to examine your own escapism.

So the spiritual dynamics behind this is like a bully tactic mentality.  The enemy turns the pressure on so hot and all day long we just war it half-butted because we're just tired of it all...day in, day out.  By the end of the day we just had enough & would just prefer to ignore it...but that's the thing...you drink a little & then the enemy eases off because the goal is to train you like a rat to always go to the bottle for relief.  Instead we're supposed do what I have to do with my son.  With my son, I just drop EvErYthing and focus on him alone....so that's what we have to do with the enemy & hit the bully back....make him pay and hold the ground.  Remember the movie "Back to the Future"?  Marty's dad, George, was under the bondage of that bully... but then in that future altering moment.. when He socked the bully... Marty's whole universe changed. Wine is still good, so long as it doesn't become a crutch...so long as it doesn't become an escape.  We have to recognize whatever is hounding us for what it is, scream "STOP" and then go to Jesus, not a bottle, not a bathroom, not the refrigerator... etc!  Decide that you are not going to be trained like a rat any longer.  Jesus wants you to come to Him.  He allows the enemy to sift you with this pressure to see what you'll do.  Can He really entrust you with more talents of the Kingdom?  Prove it!
