On Training Up Children...

Question:  (In reference to videos my son made...)How did you start with him by telling him about God? --Even when we think that they don't understand what we are saying to them?

Reply: If we are excited about God then we are always testifying & pointing to Him; we are laying a foundation that isn't "do as I say, not as I do"--- We are living and proclaiming: "It's true, He lives, He saves, taste and see the Goodness of the Lord!"

Discipline...

"Train up a child in the way he should go, Even when he is old he will not depart from it." Proverbs 22:6

For younger ages and babies simple things like nighttime prayer and prayer before dinner.... if you initiate it, they will eventually join in....even if to just say 'amen'.

Children thrive on expectation...routines and schedules...so if you make the time and start it, then they will fuel it by reminding us.

"Training" is an active discipline, and to do so means that we first discipline ourselves.

Just Talk!...

When they get older.... some of my best moments with the kids are when traveling because they have nothing else to do but sit & think. They ask random questions, talk of 'bullies' at school, events in the news.... whatever the topic, you can educate on the enemy's hand in the matter or see God's glory. It's a great time of dissecting according to the bible....what God thinks about it.... what bad consequences happen and how God loves us and warns us to protect us through His Word.

I also think of topics to share as well.... or questions to ASK THEM to get their minds churning to draw upon what God's been showing them. When they are my captive audience and 'bored' just about any topic is golden, and asking them what they think or what they know of God and what He'd think... I'm getting them in training to testify as well.

Tertiary Support...

We 'home church'.... but I still send the kids out for other fun things.
• You could go through a whole summer 'church hopping' Vacation Bible Schools.
• Concerts, plays, programs, movie night, radio... all things that can back up what you are sharing.
• My boys have all been in AWANA that many churches have which is a scripture memory youth club.  Not only do they study the Word, but they fellowship with other kids & play games etc.

The Fruit...

"Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, So are the children of one's youth." Psalm 127:4

You know 'warriors' aren't made without training... and the biggest blessing of committing to train your children up in the Lord is that it's really sharpening you.  It causes us to confess His goodness, declare His truth and faithfulness.

And so it is with most pure gifts... our heart is "the BEST" for our kids... but it is US that receive the blessing...

"How blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them;

They will not be ashamed when they speak with their enemies in the gate." Psalm 127:5

Kicking the "Kick-Me" Sign

I was recently led to share deeper on something I call a "kick me sign"; a negative projection…… what's in me picking up on what's in you.  This is a subject I had originally touched on in the Spiritual Housecleaning video series in the segment called:  "Healing the Wounded Soul - Spiritual Housecleaning".

Attacking relationships is high on the enemy's hit list, and he'll try to use and access those we love to hurt us, so we really need to dissect this tactic of the enemy so we can access any roots we may have, heal any wounds that leave doors of access, separate what the enemy is doing so that we can approach people in love, be free and overcome!

A Spiritual Conduit...

It's either via soul tie….or if you have things you need delivered from…. if those spirits reside in others---even a perfect stranger…its basically a familiar spirit that will kick in against you.  The latter you will see a lot with baby christians being attacked/targeted by witches, or atheists working for satan… because these young christians have salvation but have not gone through deep cleansing & don't have the Word built up in them-- a big 'key' in our defense.

The enemy will use any fleshy body against you….

Remember Peter saying to Jesus:
"God forbid it, Lord! This shall never happen to You." Matthew 16:22b
And Jesus' reply was:
"Get behind Me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to Me; for you are not setting your mind on God's interests, but man's." Matthew 16:23
If Peter got accessed…. if doubting Thomas got accessed…. need I go on?….We must not be proud.

Who's the real enemy?...

When you focus on the person & the negative things they are saying instead of recognizing what the enemy is doing we can go overboard and 'manifest', just like Peter did….
"But the things that proceed out of the mouth come from the heart, and those defile the man." Matthew 15:18
'Manifesting' is not taking satan captive, it's enabling him.
If we stand with Jesus, in that the enemy has lost and the knowledge of 'forgive them father for they know not what they do',….we can let it go.  If we take it to heart and look at a person's manifestation as THEM and not one of the enemy flowing thru them… we get baited to manifest ourselves by offense, self justification, or volleying the attack.
I kid you not… this is not easy stuff but recognizing it for what it is, is half the battle.

The twisted 'boat ride'...

The "kick me sign" is more than just demonic spirits though…. let me explain how a self imposed curse is actually like a boat the demons can ride in on…..

I will share an example of a self imposed curse working against oneself.
  • The curse…. "nobody listens to me"
  • The scenario….  A son comes to his mother and asks for help with a computer fix.
It doesn't come easy for mom & pans out to be several research sessions that take up mom's time.
Mom finds in research that the manufacturer says the fix is actually on the computer.  Mom asks dad to help because she's spent more time looking for what the manufacturer says and can't find it.
Dad tinkers and doesn't find it…and instead of listening to mom and building from all her hard research (basically looking up on internet how to find what's already there), he just buys more software...
This is wounding because it undercuts everything she did. She finds an article that says some manufacturers disable what's there so you'll be a sucker and buy the software…. and this feeds the anger, rejection, hate and the many things riding on the boat of 'nobody listens to me'.
Now, at this point, there is a choice…. listen to the 'voices' that want a confession of 'I hate him', 'he doesn't ever listen to me', 'what good am I in helping with anything' etc….. and secure that curse...or, we can recognize what's really going on.

The dad is picking up on the negative projection of that curse.  It is blinding him to just focus on 'let's just fix the thing', not realizing the wounding he's incurring. (We really have no idea what buttons satan has been pushing on his end either, now do we?)

How to overcome...

What does mom have to do?  As the thoughts and pain rage…it is not fun….but she MUST take the thoughts captive.  Must recognize the accuser assailing her.  When satan says "I hate him"…. instead of aligning with it or cursing him.  She can say, this... that flows into a Prayer:
"satan, i know it's YOU….you can't hide you liar.  I love him and bless him.  I forgive Him.  I declare I am worthy of being listened to, that my labors are not in vain and I have purpose.  I repent for having agreed w/ the enemy in the statement "no one listens to me" and I receive your forgiveness.  I call that curse down now, void and powerless, in the mighty name of JESUS…for the curse causeless shall not come.  Thank you for making me free and help me and expose any other doorways, associated curses or spirits that I may be fully delivered from them." Amen!

Follow up & rebuilding…

We know that faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of Christ (Romans 10:17)
….so she's ripped down all those walls the enemy created, but now she must build upon the truth in the Word.  Just like she made those positive declarations:
"I love him and bless him.  I forgive Him…"
Now, she must feed on scriptures that affirm those as well.  When satan's walls are ripped down, we must rebuild only on the truth. Repeating positive confessions is not enough… those precepts MUST be gleaned from the truth in the Word.  In the heat of the moment, a positive confession is like a life boat from a sinking ship.  Alive, but in no way out of the water! If we are in that lifeboat without a mirror (your mirror in Christ Jesus, via His Word of Truth) you'll not be able to signal for a plane or a steamship rescue.

We mirror HIM by speaking His truth, our effective sword in the Spirit!

Use a topical bible, use the Bible Promise series while you do chores around the house…. whatever is your weakness, feed on the opposite strength in the truth of His Word, and KICK that "kick me sign" Goodbye!
