Repentance Required to Receive the Baptism in the Holy Spirit

Excerpted reading from a sermon by Smith Wigglesworth (1859-1947) entitled: "Ye Shall Receive Power"

-------Repentance Required to Receive the Baptism in the Holy Spirit-----

“'Ye shall receive power after the Holy Ghost is come upon you.' The disciples had been asking whether the Lord would at that time restore again the kingdom to Israel. Christ told them that it was not for them to know the times and seasons which the Father had put in His own power, but He promised them that when they received the Holy Ghost they should receive power to witness for Him in all the world. To receive the Holy Ghost is to receive power with God, and power with men…."

"…The Lord wants all saved people to receive power from on High--power to witness, power to act, power to live, and power to show forth the divine manifestation of God within. The power of God will take you out of your own plans and put you into the plan of God. You will be unmantled and divested of that which is purely of yourself and put into a divine order. The Lord will change you and put His mind where yours was, and thus enable you to have the mind of Christ. Instead of you labouring according to your own plan, it will be God working in you and through you to do His own good pleasure through the power of the Spirit within. Someone has said that you are no good until you have your “I” knocked out. Christ must reign within, and the life in the Holy Ghost means at all times the subjection of your own will to make way for the working out of the good and acceptable and perfect will of God within…"

"The Holy Spirit will come when a man is cleansed. There must be a purging of the old life. I never saw anyone baptized who was not clean within.

I remember being in a meeting at one time, where there was a man seeking the Baptism, and he looked like he was in trouble. He was very restless, and finally he said to me, “I will have to go.” I said, “What's up?” He said, “God is unveiling things to me, and I feel so unworthy.” I said, “Repent of everything that is wrong.” He continued to tarry and the Lord continued to search his heart. These times of waiting on God for the fullness of the Spirit are times when He searches the heart and tries the reins. Later the man said to me, “I have a hard thing to do, the hardest thing I have ever had to do.” I said to him, “Tell the Lord you will do it, and never mind the consequences.” He agreed, and the next morning he had to take a ride of thirty miles and go with a bag of gold to a certain party with whom he dealt. This man had a hundred of cattle and he bought all his feed at a certain place. He always paid his accounts on a certain day, but one day he missed. He was always so punctual in paying his accounts that when later the people of his firm went over their books, they thought they must have made a mistake in not crediting the man with the money and so they sent him a receipt. The man never intended not to pay the account, but if you defer to do a right thing the devil will see that you never do it. But when that man was seeking the Lord that night the Lord dealt with him on this point, and he had to go and straighten the thing the next morning. He paid the account and then the Lord baptized him in the Spirit. They that bear the vessels of the Lord must be clean, must be holy.

When the Holy Spirit comes He always brings a rich revelation of Christ. Christ becomes so real to you that, when, under the power of the Spirit, you begin to express your love and praise to Him, you find yourself speaking in another tongue. Oh, it is a wonderful thing! At one time I belonged to a class who believed that they had received the Baptism in the Spirit without the speaking in tongues. There are many folks like that today, but if you can go with them to a prayer meeting you will find them asking the Lord again and again to baptize them in the Spirit. Why all this asking if they really have received the Baptism? I have never heard anyone who has received the Baptism in the Holy Ghost after the original pattern asking the Lord to give them the Holy Ghost. They know of a surety that He has come.

I was once traveling from Belgium to England. As I landed I received a request to stop at a place between Harwich and Colchester. The people were delighted that God had sent me, and told me of a special case they wanted me to pray for. They said, “We have a brother here who believes in the Lord, and he is paralyzed from his loins downward. He cannot stand on his legs and he has been twenty years in this condition.” They took me to this man and as I saw him there in his chair I put the question to him. “What is the greatest desire in your heart?” He said, “Oh, if I could only receive the Holy Ghost!” I was somewhat surprised at this answer, and I laid my hands on his head and said, “Receive ye the Holy Ghost.” Instantly the power of God fell upon him and he began breathing very heavily. He rolled off the chair and there he lay like a bag of potatoes, utterly helpless. I like anything that God does. I like to watch God working. There he was with his great, fat body, and his head was working just as though it was on a swivel. Then to our joy he began speaking in tongues. I had my eyes on every bit of him and as I saw the condition of his legs I said, “Those legs can never carry that body.” Then I looked up and said, “Lord, tell me what to do.” The Holy Ghost is the executive of Jesus Christ and the Father. If you want to know the mind of God you must have the Holy Ghost to bring God's latest thought to you and to tell you what to do. The Lord said to me, “Command him in My name to walk” But I missed it, of course. I said to the people there, “Let's see if we can lift him up.” But we could not lift him, he was like a ton weight. I cried, “Oh Lord, forgive me.” I repented of doing the wrong thing, and then the Lord said to me again, “Command him to walk.” I said to him, “Arise in the name of Jesus.” His legs were immediately strengthened. Did he walk? He ran all round. A month after this he walked ten miles and back. He has a Pentecostal work now. When the power of the Holy Ghost is present, things will happen."

Marinate!

Stingray shouts out a word of exhortation to Marinate in the presence of the Holy Spirit for help in overcoming the iniquity that surfaces on our path to Holiness.
Sometimes we need to step back and remember it's not 'how much' stuff we dump in our path, but it's how much stuff we absorb!

Blessings as you overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the Word of your testimony!

Something So Strong - Delusion and Divination

"The prophets are prophesying falsehood in My name. I have neither sent them nor commanded them nor spoken to them; they are prophesying to you a false vision, divination, futility and the deception of their own minds." Jer. 14:14

I share a dream, a song and an exhortation to put blinders on and focus on the narrow road...

More scripture:
"All the counsel you have received has only worn you out! Let your astrologers come forward, those stargazers who make predictions month by month, let them save you from what is coming upon you. Surely they are like stubble; the fire will burn them up. They cannot even save themselves from the power of the flame. Here are no coals to warm anyone; here is no fire to sit by. That is all they can do for you—these you have labored with and trafficked with since childhood. Each of them goes on in his error; there is not one that can save you." Isaiah 47:13-15

"Let the one who does wrong, still do wrong; and the one who is filthy, still be filthy; and let the one who is righteous, still practice righteousness; and the one who is holy, still keep himself holy." Rev. 22:11

"For false Christs and false prophets will arise and will show great signs and wonders, so as to mislead, if possible, even the elect." Mat 24:24

...Isaiah 41:21-29...
21"Present your case," the LORD says. "Bring forward your strong arguments," The King of Jacob says.

22Let them bring forth and declare to us what is going to take place; As for the former events, declare what they were, That we may consider them and know their outcome. Or announce to us what is coming;

23Declare the things that are going to come afterward, That we may know that you are gods; Indeed, do good or evil, that we may anxiously look about us and fear together.

24Behold, you are of no account, And your work amounts to nothing; He who chooses you is an abomination.

25"I have aroused one from the north, and he has come; From the rising of the sun he will call on My name; And he will come upon rulers as upon mortar, Even as the potter treads clay."

26Who has declared this from the beginning, that we might know? Or from former times, that we may say, "He is right!"? Surely there was no one who declared, Surely there was no one who proclaimed, Surely there was no one who heard your words.

27"Formerly I said to Zion, 'Behold, here they are.' And to Jerusalem, 'I will give a messenger of good news.'

28"But when I look, there is no one, And there is no counselor among them Who, if I ask, can give an answer.

29"Behold, all of them are false; Their works are worthless, Their molten images are wind and emptiness.

"Something So Strong" Lyrics - Crowded House

Love can make you weep
can make you run for cover.
Roots that spread so deep
bring life to frozen ground.
Something so strong could carry us away

Something so strong could carry us today.

Turning in my sleep
love can leave you cold

The taste of jealousy is like a lust for gold.
Something so strong could carry us away

Something so strong could carry us today.

I've been feeling so much older

Frame me and hang me on the wall.
I've seen you fall into the same trap

This thing is happening to us all.
Something so strong could carry us away

Something so strong could carry us today.

Something so strong
something so strong

Something so strong
something so strong

The Accuser

A focus on the Accuser of the Brethren based on a study originally found at (but the actual link to find it had went defunct):
http://www.wholeperson-counseling.org

This study focuses on the book of Nehemiah-- looking at the actions of Sanballat, Tobiah and other peoples that were opposed to the Israelites rebuilding Jerusalem after having been freed from the Babylonian captivity. [*A good study-- not vouching for the ministry as I don't 'follow' people around, I only multiply what HE puts in my lap.]

As we endure the more and more frequent birth pangs leading up to the second coming of Jesus, I want to exhort all of you out there that are becoming aware of the weeds growing right alongside of the wheat. These weeds that attempt to choke out your growth, block your access to the light and drain you of the nutrients you need. How many of you have encountered a person that 'knows' the scriptures but pushes a doctrine or condemnation at you if you don't believe exactly the way they do? Let's dig in and expose the 'accuser of the brethren'.

You may learn to recognize the accuser by looking at the actions of Sanballat, Tobiah, and Geshem in the Book of Nehemiah in the scriptures. As a background… this the story of Israel’s return from the Babylonian captivity and the rebuilding of the temple in Jerusalem. The Israelites had favor with and were encouraged by their new Persian ruler to go rebuild their city and make offerings to their God. However, the people who lived near Jerusalem did not want the Israelites to build the city again. People like Sanballat and Tobiah were connected to the Israelite people via marriage.
[Ref: Neh 13:28 & Neh 6:18]
But marriage was a no-no with people that didn't serve YHWH for many reasons… foreign people served foreign gods, and our God wanted a people for Himself… not divided amongst the kingdom of darkness.

“Nor shall you make marriages with them. You shall not give your daughter to his son, nor take his daughter for your son. For she will turn your son away from Me, and he will serve other gods …”
Deuteronomy 7:3-4

“No Ammonite or Moabite shall enter the assembly of the LORD; none of their descendants, even to the tenth generation, shall ever enter the assembly of the LORD, because they did not meet you with food and water on the way when you came out of Egypt, and because they hired against you Balaam the son of Beor from Pethor of Mesopotamia, to curse you. “Nevertheless, the LORD your God was not willing to listen to Balaam, but the LORD your God turned the curse into a blessing for you because the LORD your God loves you. “You shall never seek their peace or their prosperity all your days.
Deuteronomy 23:3-6

We don't have a correlation here like in the book of Ruth…

Ruth 1:16 "…for where you go, I will go … Your people shall be my people, and your God, my God."

…but we have peoples intermingled …peoples with spiritual defilement that do not abandon those root spirits that are evident as they manifest against the children of God.

We can look at this today as the accuser of the brethren… or people that contain that same sort of 'mixture'-- with one foot in the bible, yet not adhering to true conversion (or 'circumcision of the heart') by displaying the good fruit of a life ruled by Jesus Christ.

Now I just want to share some great bullet-points I found in a little Bible study I found at: http://www.wholeperson-counseling.org/warfare/the_accuser.html
It's important to know and be firm in what you are doing despite any attacks, despite any accusers that rail against you. Sometimes it's just helpful to see the 'writing on the wall'… or better yet, the scriptural gist of what you know is coming against you, so instead of wasting your time you can confidently let people babble all they want and remain undistracted from winning the prize.

"When Sanballat the Horonite and Tobiah the Ammonite official heard about it, it was very displeasing to them that someone had come to seek the welfare of the sons of Israel." Nehemiah 2:10

• The accuser is grieved when you seek to rebuild your life in Christ.

"But when Sanballat the Horonite and Tobiah the Ammonite official, and Geshem the Arab heard it, they mocked us and despised us and said, "What is this thing you are doing? Are you rebelling against the king?" Nehemiah 2:19

• The accuser will laugh at you to make you think that you are doing something wrong or ridiculous.
• The accuser will despise you, that is, look down upon you to make you think that you are lower than he is.
• The accuser will question what you are doing and try to get you to raise questions about the legitimacy of what you are doing.
• The accuser will question your authority and suggest that you are in rebellion against the established authority.

"Now it came about that when Sanballat heard that we were rebuilding the wall, he became furious and very angry and mocked the Jews. He spoke in the presence of his brothers and the wealthy men of Samaria and said, "What are these feeble Jews doing? Are they going to restore it for themselves? Can they offer sacrifices? Can they finish in a day? Can they revive the stones from the dusty rubble even the burned ones?" Now Tobiah the Ammonite was near him and he said, "Even what they are building—if a fox should jump on it, he would break their stone wall down!"
Nehemiah 4:1-3

• The accuser will gossip and turn others against you.
• The accuser will use his anger to make you afraid.
• The accuser will use his anger to belittle you.
• The accuser will mock you and what you are doing.
• The accuser will accuse you of being too weak or too old or too young or too ignorant to do what God has told you to do. -Disqualification - Intimidation
• The accuser will question if you can protect yourself.
• The accuser will question your depth of commitment.
• The accuser will suggest that you have made a rash decision that you cannot keep.
• The accuser will imply that it is too late to change because of your past experiences.
• The accuser will suggest that even if you start to rebuild your life, that it won't do any good.
• The accuser will declare that you will be overcome by the smallest enemy.
• The accuser will state that the least pressure will cause you to fall again.
*The glaring absence of Faith, Hope or Love in you.

"Now when Sanballat, Tobiah, the Arabs, the Ammonites and the Ashdodites heard that the repair of the walls of Jerusalem went on, and that the breaches began to be closed, they were very angry. All of them conspired together to come and fight against Jerusalem and to cause a disturbance in it."
Nehemiah 4:7-8

• The accuser may attack you repeatedly with strong anger.
• The accuser will join his forces (demonic powers) to fight against you.

"Thus in Judah it was said, "The strength of the burden bearers is failing, Yet there is much rubbish; And we ourselves are unable To rebuild the wall." Our enemies said, "They will not know or see until we come among them, kill them and put a stop to the work." When the Jews who lived near them came and told us ten times, "They will come up against us from every place where you may turn..."
Nehemiah 4:10-12

• The accuser will attack when you are tired.
• The accuser will attack when you don't feel like you are able to rebuild.
• The accuser will suggest that he will attack you in secret when you don't know he is attacking.
• The accuser will declare that he will destroy you and cause you to stop God's work in your life.
• The accuser will say the same thing over and over knowing that if you ever stop to listen to him that he will have you.

"Now there was a great outcry of the people and of their wives against their Jewish brothers. For there were those who said, 'We, our sons and our daughters are many; therefore let us get grain that we may eat and live.'"
Nehemiah 5:1-2

• The accuser will use division among Believers to attack also.
• The accuser will suggest that you are doing something that is unreasonable that will be of harm to others.
*Note: You may also have an internal conflict which the enemy may use against you.

"Now when it was reported to Sanballat, Tobiah, to Geshem the Arab and to the rest of our enemies that I had rebuilt the wall, and that no breach remained in it, although at that time I had not set up the doors in the gates, then Sanballat and Geshem sent a message to me, saying, "Come, let us meet together at Chephirim in the plain of Ono." But they were planning to harm me."
Nehemiah 6:1-2

• The accuser wants to get you to listen to him so that he can talk you out of doing what God would have you to do.
• The accuser will try to distract you from doing what God would have you to do.
*Note: Are you taking time to listen to the enemy? Has he distracted you from doing what God would have you do? Nehemiah refused to talk to the Sanballat and the others:

"And I sent messengers unto them, saying, I am doing a great work, so that I cannot come down: why should the work cease, whilst I leave it, and come down to you?" Nehemiah 6:3

"They sent messages to me four times in this manner, and I answered them in the same way. Then Sanballat sent his servant to me in the same manner a fifth time with an open letter in his hand."
Nehemiah 6:4-5

*Note: Just because you resist the enemy, he may not flee from you immediately. He is stubborn. He may continue to bring accusations against you a number of times.

"In it was written, It is reported among the nations, and Gashmu says, that you and the Jews are planning to rebel; therefore you are rebuilding the wall. And you are to be their king, according to these reports. You have also appointed prophets to proclaim in Jerusalem concerning you, 'A king is in Judah!' And now it will be reported to the king according to these reports. So come now, let us take counsel together."
Nehemiah 6:6-7

• The accuser will accuse you of rebellion to the authorities over you. Satan accuses us before God in Heaven, but Jesus is our defense attorney: "Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth. Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us" (Romans 8:33-34).
• The accuser may accuse you before the authority over you to push you into making wrong decisions.
• If you're not in a church of the box/institutional church anymore… the accuser will target those you are in covenant with… prayer partners or 'friends'.

"For all of them were trying to frighten us, thinking, 'They will become discouraged with the work and it will not be done.' But now, O God, strengthen my hands. When I entered the house of Shemaiah the son of Delaiah, son of Mehetabel, who was confined at home, he said, 'Let us meet together in the house of God, within the temple, and let us close the doors of the temple, for they are coming to kill you, and they are coming to kill you at night.' But I said, 'Should a man like me flee? And could one such as I go into the temple to save his life? I will not go in.' Then I perceived that surely God had not sent him, but he uttered his prophecy against me because Tobiah and Sanballat had hired him. He was hired for this reason, that I might become frightened and act accordingly and sin, so that they might have an evil report in order that they could reproach me."
Nehemiah 6:9-13

• The accuser may again use fear to keep you from doing what God would have you do. (The place of the temple was to be a sacred safe place.)
• The accuser may use those who are close to you (family and friends) and even those in authority to mislead you.

Okay… how many of you are shaking your heads and know people, or have personally dealt with the 'accuser' vendetta? You are not alone! We may not agree on all things my friends, but let's hang with those that are 'for us' in solidarity, and not align nor support what is essentially spiritual gang violence against the saints!

More than Words - Extreme

More Than Words - Extreme
Songwriters: Cherone, Gary; Bettencourt, Nuno;

Saying "I love you"
Is not the words I want to hear from you
It's not that I want you
Not to say, but if you only knew how easy
It would be to show me how you feel

More than words
Is all you have to do to make it real
Then you wouldn't have to say that you love me
'Cause I'd already know

What would you do if my heart was torn in two
More than words to show you feel
That your love for me is real

What would you say if I took those words away
Then you couldn't make things new
Just by saying "I love you"

More than words

Now but I've tried to talk to you
And make you understand
All you have to do is close your eyes
And just reach out your hands
And touch me
Hold me close, don't ever let me go

More than words
Is all I ever needed you to show
Then you wouldn't have to say that you love me
'Cause I'd already know

What would you do if my heart was torn in two
More than words to show you feel
That your love for me is real

What would you say if I took those words away
When you couldn't make things new
Just by saying "I love you"

More than words
More than words
More than words
More than words
More than words

**Scriptures:

"And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved." Acts 4:12

"What man among you, if he has a hundred sheep and has lost one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the open pasture and go after the one which is lost until he finds it?" Luke 15:4

"But prove yourselves doers of the word, and not merely hearers who delude themselves."
James 1:22

"By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another."
John 13:35

"I know your deeds. Behold, I have put before you an open door which no one can shut, because you have a little power, and have kept My word, and have not denied My name." Rev 3:8
"Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.'" Jhn 14:6

Colossians Chapter 3

3:12 So, as those who have been chosen of God, holy and beloved, put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience;

3:13 bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, whoever has a complaint against anyone; just as the Lord forgave you, so also should you.

3:14 Beyond all these things put on love, which is the perfect bond of unity.

3:15 Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body; and be thankful.

3:16 Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you, with all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God.

3:17 Whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father.

How Do You Deal With It?

If things have been hard lately... If you've felt squeezed or pinched in your situation.. You're not the only one, we'll second that emotion.

Stingray shares how we are to really 'deal with it' by looking into the Word, at how some of the Bibles biggest names got through their trials and tribulations... because they didn't 'deal with it', but instead clung to God.

Strongmen in the Scriptures

A Study on biblically listed 'strongmen' in the scriptures, using the book by Drs. Jerry & Carol Robeson called: Strongman’s His Name Whats His Game
(An Authoritative Biblical Approach to Spiritual Warfare)

I'm staying within the confines of this book in regard to 'strongmen' listed, however I add more info based on 'Strong's' Concordance-- in understanding the original meaning of the
scripture from it's Hebrew and Greek roots. Those listed in the book are by no means an end, but a good conservative, --and most importantly, unmistakably clear signpost for those seeking healing, greater freedom and deliverance from oppression.
My Notes (H=Hebrew, G=Greek... meanings inserted in parenthesis):
1 Spirit of Divination
Acts 16:16
"And it came to pass, as we went to prayer, a certain damsel possessed with a spirit of divination met us, which brought her masters much gain by soothsaying.."

possessed [G2192] (joined, held, cling, adhered to) with a spirit [G4151](a spirit higher than man but lower than God, i.e. an angel
1) used of demons, or evil spirits, who were conceived as inhabiting the bodies of men
4) the disposition or influence which fills and governs the soul of any one)] of divination [G4436] ::: (actual ref. is to 'Python'… so the actual name for this type of spirit IS Python)

2 Familiar Spirit

Leviticus 19:31
"Regard not them that have familiar spirits, neither seek after wizards, to be defiled by them: I [am] the LORD your God."

Regard [H6437] (8799) not them that have familiar spirits [H178]::::(necromancer, one who evokes the dead)

3 Spirit of Jealousy

Numbers 5:14
"And the spirit of jealousy come upon him, and he be jealous of his wife, and she be defiled: or if the spirit of jealousy come upon him, and he be jealous of his wife, and she be not defiled.."

And the spirit [H7307] (breath-disposition)of jealousy [H7068] (ardour: enthusiasm/passion) come [H5674](context of letting the spirit enter in) (8804) upon him, and he be jealous [H7065] (context of the spirit of jealousy in manifestation)(8765) of his wife [H802], and she be defiled [H2930] (context of by sexual transfer or pollution)(8738): or if the spirit [H7307] of jealousy [H7068] come [H5674] (8804) upon him, and he be jealous [H7065] (8765) of his wife [H802], and she be not defiled [H2930] (polluted)(8738)

4 Lying Spirit

2 Chronicles 18:22
"Now therefore, behold, the LORD hath put a lying spirit in the mouth of these thy prophets, and the LORD hath spoken evil against thee."

Now therefore, behold, the LORD [H3068] hath put [H5414](to be given up) (8804) a lying [H8267] (deception) spirit [H7307] (breath-disposition) in the mouth [H6310] of these thy prophets [H5030]
נָבִיא
(1) spokesman, speaker, prophet, context wider than a righteous prophet of God:
a) prophet
b) false prophet
c) heathen prophet,
נָבִיא soothsayers who prophesied in the name of baal and ashtaroth even carry the
SAME connotation
and the LORD [H3068] hath spoken [H1696] (8765) evil [H7451] against thee.

5 Perverse Spirit

Isaiah 19:14
"The LORD hath mingled a perverse spirit in the midst thereof: and they have caused Egypt to err in every work thereof, as a drunken [man] staggereth in his vomit."

The LORD [H3068] hath mingled [H4537] (mixed)(8804) a perverse [H5773](distorting, perverting, warping) spirit[H7307] (breath-disposition) in the midst [H7130](as seat of thought and emotion) thereof: and they have caused Egypt [H4714] to err [H8582](to err, wander, go astray, stagger)(8689) in every work [H4639] thereof, as a drunken [H7910] [man] staggereth [H8582] (8736) in his vomit [H6892].

6 Spirit of Haughtiness (Pride)

Proverbs 16:18
"Pride [goeth] before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall."

Pride [H1347](pride, arrogance (bad sense)) [goeth] before [H6440](in the face of) destruction [H7667], and an haughty [H1363]
a) height
b) exaltation, grandeur
c) haughtiness)
spirit [H7307] (breath-disposition)before [H6440](in the face of) a fall [H3783](a stumbling, a fall, a calamity).

7 Spirit of Heaviness

Isaiah 61:3
"… the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness…"

the garment [H4594] of praise [H8416] for the spirit [H7307] (breath-disposition) of heaviness [H3544](dim, dull, colourless, be dark, faint--of a spirit broken down)

8 Spirit of Whoredoms

Hosea 5:4

A Bible Study for Boys - Spiritual Tips 5

A great Bible Study for Boys!
Boys have great energy, so how can we funnel that energy and interest into digging into the Word and conforming to His image?

Use the first 3 movies from Star Wars (episodes 1,2 & 3), in paralleling Anakin Skywalker's steady downfall into negative fruits alongside of Galatians 5:19-25.
Get your dictionary handy as well, as you read through those nasty fruits in Galatians, you'll be mining through each one with that dictionary to really get the kids to understand what each one really means. Then, talk about the movie(s) and encourage the kids to pick out scenes that show that bad fruit in action so that they can begin to grasp by an example (in Anakin).

Not only does this study grasp their interest, but it encourages them to discern and teaches them to investigate based on the Word of God.

Strongholds Edu - Spiritual Housecleaning

Do you have unsettling sinful habits, weaknesses, torments, recurring bad fruit character flaws? I'm not talking about big things like murder or adultery… I'm talking about areas in your life, in your thought patterns that keep you barreling like a hamster in it's wheel instead of exhibiting Galatians 5 victory?
Spiritual Housecleaning is a series I'm doing to help expose all those dark, dirty little things that the enemy would rather you think is just a normal struggle in your life.
You're here because you know there's abundant life, you've tasted it… but a taste just won't do… you want to live it!

Hi Freedom 1 here, with a little video crash course illustration about enemy access that ties us up from conforming into the image of Christ Jesus. I'll show how we get on the brink of agreeing with the devil… how to overcome when the pressure is on, what happens when we blow it and how the sins of our forefathers haunt us and wear us down.

In 2 Corinthians 10:4&5 NAS we read, "…for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses. We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ." Other versions call those 'fortresses' - 'strongholds', and that's what we're talking about here.

In Mark 3:27 is the ever popular illustration that perhaps we've read and agreed with but never thought about in terms of those recurring troubles we have, that the Word says we shouldn't.

I'll begin to flesh it out with our character Mr. Bitter as he's active on the job-site… later we'll send in an interviewer as well… Roll the Spirit-Cam!

FILM PARODY SEQUENCE

INTERVIEW SEQUENCE

*Note: Generational curses or sins of the father…. wear us down, because they have legal access to do so. The generational ties…. let's face it, it's like chinese water torture…. just always there nagging…. those thoughts, those voices in the head. Remember in 2 Corinthians 10:5? ["Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ." ] This is not only talking about what our human minds come up with, but who else can influence our mind with those nagging 'voices' those contrary thoughts?

It's so simple though… appropriate what Jesus did…. and be done with it!

But I don't know everything about my ancestor back 4 generations ago…. you say…. well, we'll save that for another video.

Recap…. how do we get a stronghold?
• Blatant unrepentant sin all by ourselves.
• If we agree with ANY lie…. we create a door.

Journey along with me in this series of Spiritual Housecleaning as we learn to dismantle every work of the enemy in our lives and be equipped to stop these cycles cold in our lives and all those around us, so that we can truly be free, FREE INDEED!

Scriptures used in sequences:
Ephesians 4:31
James 4:7
Numbers 14:18
Exodus 20:5
Deuteronomy 5:9
Leviticus 26:39-40

Spiritual Housecleaning Part 1

'Spiritual house-cleaning' is the process of freedom from demonic oppression. When we are examining ourselves… find bad habits, bad fruit, evidence of unrepentant sin and we begin to cry out earnestly with desire to not only overcome, but to change at all costs… doors of access begin to shut. Deliverance begins to happen.

When I began down this path of deep self examination… I realized that I ‘had issues’. In reading the Word of God and comparing my ‘Walk’ along-side of it... things weren’t adding up. I found myself identifying oh--too--well, with Saint Paul’s lament in Romans 7:15, “For what I am doing, I do not understand; for I am not practicing what I would like to do, but I am doing the very thing I hate.”

I found myself needing a deliverer because try as I might.... I still had my issues (I still HAVE issues!) despite doing and saying ‘all the right things’. Despite all the heartfelt repentance, forgiveness and reading the Word! The Lord showed me in the scriptures…. Moses delivered the Israelites from the hand of Pharaoh…. we can liken that to what takes place when we receive Jesus as Lord. But were the Israelites completely free after that point? No… what happened? They succumbed to influences and what were the roots of those thoughts that turn to action? Ask yourself… was there a root spirit of bondage, of fear, of distrust…. and you can go on & on deeper into this meditation in seeing they had those same things before the exodus.

The fact of the matter is, is that walking out your salvation is an understatement to it's true meaning church. There are a great many words that have changed meaning these days.

Why is the word ‘Deliverance’ a dark and dirty word that society has programmed us into believing that is a rare necessity only for little levitating girls with spinning heads, foaming & cursing mouth manifestations? Maybe because ‘Possession’ is a dark and dirty word that is often associated with it.

In Chris Simpson’s guide entitled: Deliverance from Evil Spirits, a recommended read (link below), I found this interesting tidbit… Did you know...:

“In the New Testament, the Greek word expressing the presence of demonic spirits within people is daimonizomai (Die-mon-nye-zom-my). What this word means is to be demonized; to be under the power or influence of a demon in certain areas; to have a demon. In the King James Version of the Bible this particular Greek word is translated 11 times as “to be possessed with devils.” The word “possessed,” however, is a mislead-ing translation for this Greek word. To English speaking people the term “possessed” implies total ownership of something. This concept, when applied to the relationship between a demonic entity and a person, has no support in the scripture or in the original intent of the Greek word. There is no suggestion in the scripture that a demon has totally taken over a person as the word “possessed” implies. Even the Gaderene demoniac had enough humanity to cry out to Jesus for help. Rather, close scriptural study shows that the effect of demons upon people was usually in one or more areas of the personality - not the whole person.”

Does the thought of demonic access set well in comparison with what the ‘church’ has programmed us with? Of course not. The devil is always making us do something... but we have no part in it whatsoever, “Why, that sneaky devil just came outta nowhere, no one is safe”. No, that's a Wrong mentality, that gives the devil power and lessens the power of God. Or how about “We’re all sinners with no good in us”; Wrong. God Justifies us through Christ & uses us in the plan of salvation.

When you’ve tried everything to no avail... full-well knowing that God is good.... maybe it’s time to take seriously that ‘every penny must be paid for’...

Matthew 18:33-35 "Should you not also have had mercy on your fellow slave, even as I had mercy on you? And his lord, moved with anger, handed him over to the torturers until he should repay all that was owed him. So shall My heavenly Father also do to you, Peter, if each of you does not forgive his brother from your heart."

Suddenly, it makes sense-- because we realize that the Word of God IS very true despite man’s desire to pick and choose based on the pride in the mind or fleshly desires. Sin opens us up to satan. The price for sin is the atoning blood of Jesus. The glaring 'issues' we have… the ones that echo Paul's Lament in Romans 7:15… the diseases, the repetition of failure in our lives point to areas of access.

The bridge of Sanctification is a marvelous structure that ‘Deliverance’ steadily ropes us across. Even the smallest of undesirable fruit is not welcome in the offering of our very selves unto the Lord.

This is some hard stuff and I will be addressing it because this term 'Deliverance' and the concept of 'Spiritual Housecleaning' is very broad. Some of the 'issues' we deal with… we have no understanding where they have come from and why we can't seem to break free…. those point to Generational Curses (sins of forefathers) Soul Ties, and Curses (whether self induced or by others) in general. This doesn't seem fair, but it's in the Word and if you have these 'issues'… diving in to understand the 'Why' will help you overcome.

Another hard area is that the enemy is attracted to pain, just like an open wound in the ocean attracts sharks…. so areas of wounding or trauma…. which aren't even sins we have committed also give a doorway for the enemy to frequent in our lives. How do we heal the wound? This is stuff I'm going to touch on later in this series.

Spiritual Tips 4 - Tips for Teachers

Are you a God-ordained 'Teacher' of the 5-fold, in that the gifts have not passed away? If your drive is to open up and bless the body of Christ with any morsel of revelation of the kingdom of God. this is for you.

1.) Go with what you know. Nothing regurgitated. nothing from a book that you've read but not personally been through or God hasn't specifically shown you Himself. God gives all of us a facet if it weren't so then we wouldn't need a 'body of Christ'. There's nothing wrong with building upon more facets already out there, but if you hop on a bandwagon of sorts and it's not coming from the heart, it benefits no one and if it's not birthed from HIM, it's your own bad-self Pride that you need to be dealing with!
Some people put themselves in this position because they have a 'ministry' a 'following' that is expecting them every wednesday night at 7pm. Be careful people only do what you see the Father doing and don't get swept down the river with that old feeding trough trap.

2.) Go with what you know AND have Conquered, because. you'll be tested by your words. If you haven't conquered something and blab it out prematurely guess what? You're going to deal with it some more. It's not only the devil that stands before God and says, "Hey, they say they are over it, I just had them a moment ago, talk is cheapI ain't go'in nowhere unless they therefore STAND". but the enemy also enlists human weapons to rail against you, to whittle your faith down and make it even harder for you. Hey, let's face it the enemy is ruthless he knows you well. Your good witness is more important to snuff out than a christian that's minding their own business in unspiritual Logos-land. Teachers you know you're more accountable. If you don't have your 'stuff' together and the pressure is great and you fall what happens to the people that were listening to you?
I know, it's hard you start to get freedom and revelation and you get excited. But hold up lil' buck-a-roo don't let your excitement be captured by the enemy pushing you.

Part of the lie the enemy often pushes on people is that YOU HAVE TO BE FIRST. this is something 'new'. Nope, nothing new under the sun. There is no hurry if you are trusting in the Lord. You will absolutely know when the time is right to deliver the message of the Lord you'll be inspired, it will come out with an unmistakable anointing upon it; you will have peace and there won't be any feeding pearls to swine.

3.) God will bless you where you are at no task He commissions you with is too small or unimportant. I have an immense burden to teach but one day He told me to do the bible promise series here on YouTube. That doesn't require teaching. just reciting from the good book. What I didn't realize is what an important tool, weapon and blessing it is for me! BUT, He knows! Now it's a referral I use when helping others.
The same with doing 'Children's Church'. I simply turn on the camera when I teach the kiddies & then spend some time editing & then what happens? My kids LOVE the episodes! Not only do they sit through it once but they watch the fun video after the fact! Do I want the word of God in me? Do I want it rooted in my kids? YES!
3a.) God will bless you where you are at because God gives us these teachings first for ourselves! As I go through old teachings, I find blessings there. Teacher,. if you're not finding blessing in your own teachings if you don't feel that anointing there that excites you to go deeper analyze, was it you or God-ordained?

4.) Look at me vs. Look at God When you start a teaching as led by God, stay the narrow road. Are you equipping people or are you looking for accolades? People want to know how to go on deeper with God and how to be free. We are called to use our testimony, but there's a fine line there. Point to Jesus. Educate the people. And be 'Real' in your delivery-- don't only tell half of it cuz rest brings down your posh reputation. If you've conquered it. it shouldn't bug you anyways!

5.) Be You God has designed you and equipped you just as you are. don't squish yourself into the preacher on t.v. box-of-the-month, if that's not you. I have people call me a fake christian cuz I'm goofy instead of serious and stoic. But hey, I'm reaching who I'm supposed to all you cool people that watched this to the end!

Cults and Religious Bondage

Been in a cult or always around them? Is religious bondage of one sort or another always been in your life? Manipulated easily because of your zeal to Love and serve the Lord? I will share my testimony on these very things in this series that has a happy ending...
Freedom... with no pain, hurt or regrets.... PEACE.

In my personal story... the root of my cult meanderings was a 'spirit of Bondage'... this I will go into later in the series.... but a very important note to take, because whether you were IN a cult, or you know someone in one.... there are root spirits involved to consider and we cannot escape or truly break free if we only deal with things in the 'flesh'.

Knowing the root and dealing with it can help you and those you love to heal the wounding associated with cult involvement--- and if you are reading this with pain in your heart... (you know they are many!), God bless you...and get excited...because my years of growth and learning will translate to hours until your victory dance!

Episode 1...
  1. I share about my zeal in pursuing God at a young age by visiting a religious order of nuns in the Catholic Church and joining their aspirant program (first rung on the ladder in seeking a religious vocation). Even though I was lacking understanding in the Word, the Lord began to stir the Holy Spirit gift of discernment within me, to identify what was of His Spirit vs. a wrong one.
Episode 2...
'Red Flags' of:
  1. spirit of manipulation
  2. control
  3. confirming bad fruit
  4. Meeting with Elders if you were interested in someone, ie. a sort of prearranged marriage * Tons of 'functions' to keep you captive in the group
  5. Many gender separation rules to ward off 'temptation' (though the leader obviously did not follow - hidden sexual sins)
  6. Male-Female stereotypes that lessened women, yet the Elders wives exhibited a Jezebel puppet-mastery behind the scenes I also speak about the simplicity in knowing God with one's heart vs. knowing a whole lot of the 'Word' with no relationship or confirming reformed lifestyle.

Episode 3...
• cult/bondage #3 - internet cult!
• cult jealousy
• a right focus=blessing of anointing... a wrong one=sharing in the curse
• excuses leaders make to justify bad fruit
• what you submit to, rubs off on you!
• being 'nice' by not correcting a leader drags you into their sin!
• 'serving' a cult to one's own detriment

Episode 4...
• God can get in ANYwhere, so long as people desire Him
If you esteem a man/woman above the benchmark of the Word (and the urging of the Holy Spirit)... you inherit all of their spiritual garbage
• The enemy jumps into our wounds
• Fear... the root of justification
• Privacy invasion 101
• Your money, to a bad cause
• Spiritual Poison
• Shawshank Redemption
• Forgive them... 'they are beloved'
• the treasure upon escaping
Leaders Justification of:
• cursing
• little white lies
• pagan knowledge defilement
• attacking/belittling others
• Elitism

Episode 5 (Final)...
Warning of healing wounds so a false 'Righteous Indignation' doesn't spring up and push you into another bondage.
• Prayer for Breaking Soul ties & ties to the 'Institution' (Cult) - in 'descriptions'
• Prayer to Break a Spirit of Bondage (or other Spiritual vice) - in 'descriptions'

line
***Prayer for Breaking Soul ties and ties to the 'Institution' (Cult)***

Jesus, I confess and repent of my sins resulting from ungodly soul ties between me and ______(reflection of and about who and what. You can even use everyone and anything that has established any sort of relationship with you ie. 'institution'). I confess and repent of my anger and resentment against You, God, for allowing the resulting sin and iniquity in my life. I give up all my rebellion and sin, and I submit myself to You as my Lord.

I confess all of my sins before You Jesus, and I ask for your forgiveness, especially for any sins that exposed me to a curse. I ask for your release. Release me also from the consequences of my ancestors' sins and also from the resulting iniquity and possible curse.

Father, by a decision of my will, I forgive all who have harmed me or wronged me, just as I want you to forgive me. I forgive the transference to me their sins and the resulting iniquity through the relationship ties between us. Thank you Father; I receive your forgiveness. I am humbled and I too forgive myself for participating in these sins.

I renounce all contact with anything from the cult. If I have any "contact objects" I commit myself to destroy them.

Lord Jesus, I believe that on the cross You took on yourself every curse that could ever come upon me. So I ask you now to release me from every curse over my life, in Your name, Jesus Christ.

In the name of Jesus Christ, and the authority given me, I place the Cross of Christ in between me and unholy soul ties, unholy relationships, unholy attachments, unholy pathways, silver cords, and unholy covenants. By claiming the complete work of Christ, I command the flow through these ties be halted at the Cross of Christ. I receive the infusion of the Blood of Jesus Christ flowing down from the Cross of Christ to me-- providing my heart, mind, body, and soul complete cleansing, restoration, healing, freedom, release, and total absolution of sin, absolution of the resulting iniquity, and release from any curses that may have been passed through or exposed to me.

Lord Jesus, I ask you as my physician and chief surgeon to guide my hands with your grace as I use the sword of the spirit to cut through and completely sever and surgically remove all unholy soul ties, unholy attachments, unholy relationships, unholy pathways, silver cords and unholy covenants. By the blood of Jesus and through his infusion to me, all unholiness and curses are stopped at the Cross of Christ by his blood and through his finished work. I preserve only Godly ties. As I cut, I ask the Holy Spirit to burn the surgical remnant of these ties.

Lord, in your name and by the Sword of the Spirit, I destroy anything that has come into me through these severed connections. In Jesus name, I cancel all Satan's claims to me.

Father, bring back anything godly that has been taken from me.

Thank you Father, Son, and Holy Spirit for delivering me. Help me stand in front of you in awe, deeply meditating on your love and mercy for me Thank you for delivering me. I love you and thank you.

Amen

line

***Prayer to Break a Spirit of Bondage (or insert other Spiritual vice)***

I ask for Your hand of deliverance Lord Jesus. I repent for having entertained or given in to a Spirit of Bondage (or insert other vice)… and I thank you for forgiving me by the power of Your precious blood shed for me at the cross. I also thank you for the promise of Power in Your precious name and that it isn't anything I can do by my own power but I now exercise the authority You have given me .

I now bind up the Spirit of Bondage (or other hindering spirit) now in the name of Jesus, my Lord and Savior, and I command you to go to the footstool of Jesus Christ for Judgement. You have no place here in this vessel of honor.

I declare freedom in Jesus' name. I ask you Jesus to fill any formerly enemy occupied places, in my soul that held me in bondage (or add attribute here and then add the positive opposite attribute), with Your Spirit of Freedom and Liberty into my life. I declare all the doors of access the enemy had, now shut and ask for a new right-relationship, in communion with You Jesus.
Amen

Spirits on Objects

Jacob testifies about how God showed him how 2 little cards can bring in big trouble. Pokemon cards may seeeeem innocent... ouija boards and tarot... dungeons and dragons... even harry potter... but the truth is, is that it's a doorway away from God.

How POKEMON and the Magic Cards Affect the Minds and Values of Children
by Berit Kjos - www.crossroad.to

"Who are the strange little creatures from Japan that have suddenly become global super-stars? Most kids know the answer well: They are called Pokemon (short for POCKEt MONster and pronounced Poh-keh-mon), and they have stirred up some mixed reactions.

"We just sent a letter home today saying Pokemon cards are no longer allowed on campus," said Paula Williams, a second-grade teacher in Danville, California. "The kids know they're supposed to be put away when they come in from recess, but they're often in the middle of a trade, so they don't come in on time. In the more extreme cases, the older kids are getting little kids to trade away valuable cards . . . . It drives a teacher crazy."

It concerns parents even more. "Recently, my children were given a set of Pokemon cards," said Dianna Brannan, a Seattle mom. "They are very popular with the children at our church and elsewhere. I was instantly suspicious but couldn't discern the problem. We have since been told that they are stepping stones to the 'Magic cards' that have been popular for the last few years, which we do not allow."

She is right. For instance, any child exploring the most popular Pokemon websites 2 will be linked to a selection of occult games. A click on the ad for "Magic the Gathering" brings Pokemon fans to a site offering promotions such as this:

"A global games phenomenon, Magic: The Gathering is to the 1990s what Dungeons and Dragons was to the 1980s, but with the added dimension of collectibility. Here is the official reference to the biggest new teen/young adult fantasy game of the decade, complete with full-color reproductions of every existing Magic card."

THE POKEMON MESSAGE. The above websites gives us glimpse of the mysterious little creatures called Pokemon. Ponder the suggestions in this greeting:

"Welcome to the world of Pokemon, a special place where people just like you train to become the number-one Pokemon Master in the World!"

"But what is a Pokemon, you ask. 'Pokemon are incredible creatures that share the world with humans,' says Professor Oak, the leading authority on these monster. 'There are currently 150 documented species of Pokemon. . . . Each Pokemon has its own special fighting abilities. . . . Some grow, or evolve, into even more powerful creatures.. . . Carry your pokemon with you, and you're ready for anything! You've got the power in your hands, so use it!'" 3

What if children try to follow this advice? What if they carry their favorite monsters like magical charms or fetishes in their pockets, trusting them to bring power in times of need?

Many do. It makes sense to those who watch the television show. In a recent episode, Ash, the boy hero, had just captured his fifth little Pokemon. But that wasn't good enough, said his mentor. He must catch lots more if he wants to be a Pokemon master. And the more he catches and trains, the more power he will have for future battles.

So Ash sets out again in search for more of the reclusive, power-filled, little Pokemon. His first step is to find the "psychic Pokemon" called Kadabra and snatch it from its telepathic, pink-eyed trainer, Sabrina. With the ghost Haunter on his side, it should be a cinch!

But Ash had underestimated the power of his opponent. When he and Sabrina meet for the battle, both hurl their chosen Pokemon into the air, but only Kadabra evolves into a super-monster with a magic flash. Haunter hides. "Looks like your ghost Pokemon got spooked," taunts Sabrina.4

Obviously, Ash didn't understand the supernatural powers he had confronted. Neither do most young Pokeman fans today. Unless they know God and His warnings, they cannot understand the forces that have captivated children around the world. And if parents underestimate the psychological strategies behind its seductive mass marketing ploys, they are likely to dismiss the Pokemon craze as harmless fun and innocent fantasy. In reality, the problem is far more complex."

The Pain of 'Knowing Too Much' - New Believers in Jesus

You became a Christian… you received tremendous freedom… now the scriptures are opened to you and there's no denying that God is real, but now you're beginning to grieve and sorrow. Perhaps your eyes are too wide open now… for now friends that laugh and talk about getting drunk on the weekends, you know, that thing you used to do too… now seems so pointless, meaningless and a waste of time. Yet these are your friends, and try as you might to plant seeds, you know that bible thumping them will push them further away, yet you also recognize that you are not their Savior and they must choose for themselves.

Suddenly you feel stuck. You feel doubt-- because you do not feel joy.

What happens after the Honeymoon?

A friend shared this lament with me… honestly sharing how bitter it feels. This is normal. Every Christian on the planet goes through this, just like every newly married couple goes through this. You're in this commitment that is more real and tangible than your bank statement. It's in your midst, it surrounds you, it's undeniable, what the Lord has done for you. But that first joy at the altar is now the reality that you have to take out the trash, mow the yard and change diapers and you look around and wonder "I'm supposed to be happy and thankful surrounded by this?" I remember when my husband called his mother, after we had our fist child, and lamented some parenthood issue and she just laughed at him! Admittedly, shocking to him at the time…because he was really looking for padded sympathy!

When your eyes have opened & you 'know better'.... welcome to the reality of what carrying our cross is about. It's hard because the 'world' is all you've ever known. In the world you didn't care about your dirty laundry… you didn't pick up after yourself… you could gossip to plenty of people to get the sympathy your flesh demands… but now…. OUCH.

When this happened to me, (when I first had my conversion experience)... I was already in a relationship with a guy that wasn't a Christian. Suddenly my eyes were opened... and when the 'big issues' in life came up I would always choose the God way & he would go the other way. It didn't matter that we had tons in common or common friends.... I realized that I was now with 'a stranger'. Whenever I would share Jesus & the excitement I had because the veil had been removed from my eyes... the boyfriend would only ask pointed questions with an agenda behind them. I continued to 'cry out'... but, I was not this man's Savior, and if he rejects mine….ahhhhh, the dichotomy, the turmoil, the doubt because of the sorrow and lack of peace. We can't make people love Jesus…. this is the sorrow... man's free will to willfully reject!

I've pointed out many times that in the scriptures it says the lost cannot enter in lest the veil be removed.

"…but whenever a person turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away." 2 Corinthians 3:16

Jesus often did parables to get people to receive biblical truth without banging it over their heads. See the heart must change for anything biblical to make sense. By the parables he got people to DECIDE either pro or vs those precepts. The ones that chose 'life'....if they would continue to follow Him they would begin to hear the scriptures which would then open up to them. Most people only want to smell the rose, not to tend it.

But a sniff isn't relationship... to hold it in one's hand's...thorns and all ---IS.

*Earnestness TRUMPS 'comfortableness' every time! Because even when we ‘can't do it’... IF WE ASK...HE WILL do that hard thing for us!
Because I continued to cry out, the Lord blessed me to move away from that guy and THEN I was able to surround myself with healthy fellowship --to grow in the Word and relationship with Him.

Have you asked Father God for help? --For His change for your life? It may not be a 'move away' like I had, but will He not hear you and move on your behalf?

"The LORD is far from the wicked, But He hears the prayer of the righteous." Proverbs 15:29

The only people that get disappointed in their prayers are the ones that tell God what they want Him to do because they think they know it all.

("But He gives a greater grace. Therefore it says, "GOD IS OPPOSED TO THE PROUD, BUT GIVES GRACE TO THE HUMBLE." James 4:6)

But that's not how it works, right? We seek HIM, ask Him, and He answers.

"Yet they seek Me day by day and delight to know My ways, As a nation that has done righteousness And has not forsaken the ordinance of their God. They ask Me for just decisions, They delight in the nearness of God." Isaiah 55:2

After all, His ways are higher than we can comprehend, right?

"For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways," declares the LORD." Isaiah 55:8

So let me recap:

• Ask God to change your situation

Counter the alienation and sorrow by asking God to change your situation for His Glory, without dictating what your flesh wants to do.

"In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight." Proverbs 3:6

• Let Jesus do the work

Pray for those that were Pre-'your conversion', asking Him how to best sow seeds, recognizing that He is the Savior not you, lest you carry unnecessary yoke upon yourself.

"For My yoke is easy and My burden is light." Matthew 11:30

• Look to God, not your 'comfort zone'

Focus on the Promises of God, despite whatever it looks like around you. Your focus is on the 'Big Picture'. If you go to college and train hard and get a Master's Degree, you can get a fantastic job. On the same token, if heaven is our home, should you not also be studying hard and getting your Kingly Master's degree because where we are going is the goal.

"For behold, the kingdom of God is in your midst." Luke 17:21b

And with Jesus in our Holy temples… it begins Now!

"For we have become partakers of Christ, if we hold fast the beginning of our assurance firm until the end…" Hebrews 3:14

With eyes wide open... the sadness is in that what used to be fun or happy isn't that anymore because you 'know too much'. It can also be because you're now a target for the enemy. Anyone that 'knows too much', what does he (satan) want to do with you? So there's some warfare involved there too.

So, You may be out there feeling this too, and you are right IT IS bitter, but it is bitterSWEET, if we turn our focus in the right direction….. the bigger picture; because nothing can touch the promise of heaven when you 'know too much'!

Potter and the Clay

We hear: "He is the potter, we are the clay" (Is 64:8) in the scriptures, but the beauty of a parable is that we are drawn to step into another's shoes to liken our own situation. So as you think of Him as a potter…. place yourself in His shoes…

Let's dig into a very valuable study based on the reflection of a Potter and of the process that a vessel goes through…

We first take a piece of clay and pound on it to get out any air. I liken this as the fact that salvation is offered to every man and woman. We are all offered a choice. We are all put in a pounding place where we must choose light or darkness.

Under those tough times we are proven what we are made of.

Luke 6:45 "A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.”

Then we throw the lump of clay down onto the wheel. Within your mind you've already decided what type of vessel you are going to make. Let's look in our cabinets…. we have plates, bowls of various types, platters, sugar, creamer etc. If we are making a set for ourselves, we will make what we will use. Each have a specific purpose in our place setting and we will make enough to fit our family size.

God purposes us individually … He foreordains what part of the 'place setting' we are to be… but He doesn't make junk. He doesn't sit there and say… "Now I need a broken dish just so I can throw it away". No, let's step into a potter's shoes.

Did you know that if you don't beat the air out of clay it can explode in the kiln?

"God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble." (1 Peter 5:5)

Did you know that contaminants in the clay can cause the same to occur? If you have a little rock (contaminant) in a bowl you are spinning on the wheel, it can collapse the whole thing as it catches in your hand and creates a perforating score that then collapses the whole piece.

As we are conforming to Christ Jesus, we are co-laborers in the Kingdom. He created us all good with a purpose, but it is us that must keep out the contaminants of sin… it is us that must take the full gospel… not only bits and pieces.. it is us that must bear good fruit in the 'try times' of purification.

After the vessel is created it must dry and become greenware because there must be no moisture in the firing process because moisture is also an agent that can cause pottery to explode. You can have a kiln full of many beautiful pieces, but one with moisture in it can act as a grenade destroying the whole batch. What is that moisture like? It's like pride because it makes things swell. We can really relate to this one, in that one individual can have the power to destroy the faith of many, or to lead many astray.

But let's get back to this greenware stage…. greenware is very fragile. Does it look finished? Well, maybe from a distance, but is it usable? NO. It will melt if water is reintroduced to it. It must be fired.

After firing it becomes bisque. Is it usable then? To some extent, but it won't hold liquid, but for a short time, because it's too porous. It must be glazed and then fired again.

Are you seeing the parable of the sower in this analogy? Some only go so far with the 'Word' they hear.

It's the same with pottery… He gives us a place in advance, but we have a part in making it. I like song from Eli… it's from the 90's called 'The Lumber Song', in it, it focuses on the concept of how we lay up our treasures in heaven.

song excerpt:

Passed a mansion made of stone

But with each new house he's shown

They get smaller by degrees

Stopped in front of a two room shack

Pete said hope you're happy with that

Man said: "How can this be?"

Pete said:

Chorus:

That's all the lumber--that's all the lumber

that's all the lumber you sent

Looks like the builder--man he's got your number

That's all the lumber you sent

That's all the lumber you sent! It's the same with our hand in pottery… He's already determined the vessel… but like the Lumber song… are we choosing the right clay? (*side note: A different clay could be likened to a different doctrine... in the end however, it's our HEART, and if we are FOR or Against Jesus.)

Are we keeping out impurities? (Sin) Are we going the distance? (Empowered in the Baptism of the Holy Spirit)

So let me recap and flesh out the Parable nature of this "Potter and the Clay"….

On the hard surface:

We must first choose light or darkness. Pounding is inevitable as we are amidst an unseen battle for our souls.

On the wheel:

To some there are too many contaminants in the clay so that a vessel cannot even be formed, which is likened to rejecting God. But, some go on and make it off the wheel.

Greenware:

To some they have the appearance of being a vessel; or we could say an appearance of 'goodness' or ‘godliness, but explode in the kiln because they didn't follow the instructions [Jesus is the only door]. Remember that greenware is brittle… I've got this fun little piece my son made in preschool where they pressed toy dinosaurs into it to get an idea of how fossils were made. A little straggler piece broke off very easily. If I put the whole thing in water the clay will soften and he can do the whole thing over again. Greenware is where a lot of the 'church' is… the appearance of ‘godliness’, but when taken under a faucet… just like in the parable of the sower, greenware is like all the seeds that fell everywhere but on the good soil.

Fun Fact: The finest porcelain wares do not need glazing to render them

impermeable to liquids, but glaze makes them resistant to dirt and staining... How far will the Bride go in adornment?

Bisque:

And others retain their shape, but only have limited usage. They've went through some fire, they are solid… they aren't going to melt. This is likened to receiving Jesus as Lord, but not being Baptized in the Holy Spirit… we must receive the 2nd baptism, if we want to be fully useful in the Kingdom of God!

Jhn 7:38 "He who believes in Me, as the Scripture said, 'From his innermost being ((ie. belly)) will flow rivers of living water.' "

Glazing:

But the ones that are glazed are not only beautiful; tried through the fire several times, but are also true vessels to be set at places of honor at the banquet. With the Baptism in the Holy Spirit, these are able to carry rivers of His life.

The finest porcelain may not 'need' glazing to hold liquids, but it is the glaze that adds that touch of beauty to adorn the finest of tables.

There are many rooms in His Father's house (in OUR Father’s house). Only Bisque and Glazed items are fit for use at all. As we lay up our treasure in heaven, do we have a meager dwelling with cupboards of Bisque or are we producing fine glazed porcelain in palaces of honor in His kingdom? We all need to examine and contemplate, "Am I being used to my full potential? Am I on the path to conforming to the vessel that He has created me to be?"
