'Gut Feelings' About Others

A person wrote me about having a 'gut feeling' that a popular Christian interviewer wasn't setting well with them. They honestly couldn't put a finger on 'why', but there they were, with that feeling to deal with.

So what do we do with this initial alert in our spirits?

I'll share some of what the Lord impressed upon my heart:

I've never had a problem (ie. a 'check' or warning in my spirit) with this individual before... he's had some guests on his show go wayward... But overall, it's a really good thing.

And this hit's home with me because he's just a certain personality type that comes across as 'brash' (in the bold, assertive and 'in your face' sense). I have a testimony on this very thing...

When I was an early christian, I found that his was the only type of personality that I couldn't get along with. I would be fine with women of the same type... but not men! Later, I realized that most of the men in my life at that time---of that type-- were hypocritical-- with overbearing, judgmental bossiness (a real turn-off!)-- a 'brashness' in the 'rude' sense! And so, it created a 'wounded offense' kind of disposition towards that personality type!

Until I realized that... up went the shields no matter how good their fruit was! Until I dissolved negative confessions I had made about that personality type... I would be like a magnet on it's back side when around men that fit my negative mold!

So you see, there are other reasons why we
can get that 'gut thing' about people...

In the discernment process we have to then note bad fruit to confirm the 'gut thing' (which we are also discerning... "is this you Holy Spirit?")... but if the fruit is okay, then we have to consider that perhaps the enemy is desiring to hook into us to get us in opposition with someone by being a warm-bodied weapon. Not that you were going this route... but you can see this happen when another has a wounding or access point. It only takes two, to come into agreement via gossip... agreeing on negative things... essentially cursing the person or even as a 'christian' type of witchcraft where they decide what they think is best and pray 'thy will be done' over that person... but it's really control and manipulation on their part. This stuff is sneaky, but thanks be to God for the test of His Word:

"Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things. The things you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you."
Philippians 4:8-9

Like 'big bombs' have two keys to turn by different people (so all the power doesn't rest upon one person)... we are exhorted to:

"…examine everything carefully; hold fast to that which is good…"
1 Thessalonians 5:21

This is our fail/safe... by including the 'fruit, we can then go back and examine the initial thought or 'gut feeling' with confidence!

"We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ.."
2 Corinthians 10:5

But what if we can't tell... if there's not enough fruit?

It is imperative that we pray.

"I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way."
1 Timothy 2:1-2

It is no mistake that prophetic people are ones plugged into God... but only so by prayer. Sometimes God does give us hidden information regarding a person-- hidden enough that we cannot tell by their surface fruits. What we thought was about 'fruits' is really a 'pickle'!

This requires some growth on our part! It's important that whenever we get a 'negative', that we exert a 'positive'. So even if it is indeed the Lord who is alerting our spirit regarding someone... we don't align negatively... but that we instead pray in love, for good, for blessing. We can pray that anything surrounding the person that is evil be exposed... so if it is that they are under attack, you have aligned for their good, but if indeed it all was an alert from the Lord... we will see the exposure happen within that person's life. ("For you will heap burning coals on his head, And the LORD will reward you." Proverbs 25:22)

In the end, we are an agent for satan, or for Jesus... the great thing is, that anything the enemy sends will be used for good (Romans 8:28), so long as we are doing just what we are supposed to be doing!

Not 'Feeling God' and Blaming Him?

I recently received a 'venting' sort of comment and I wanted to share my response with you all because there are a great many people feeling 'stuck' in this same spiritual rut!

The comment:
"‪I am an addict and therefore a man of the flesh and not one of the spirit. God therefore cannot save me nor has he. I haven't felt him in my life in years. My prayers are not righteous or effective! I feel forsaken as this was not the life I willingly choose!‬
Just one question, WHAT IF YOU WERENT CALLED FOR HIS PUPOSE WHAT IF YOU AREN WRITTEN IN THE BOOK OF THE LIVING!!! That is why I am losing faith I feel god is not in my life."

My response:
If your an addict and recognize you have a problem... that's a good start.

Blaming God for it, or believing there's predestination stuff gets whacky. God is outside of time.... we are inside of it. Because He's outside of it, He knows whether we will accept His invitation or not.
It's like watching a parade from the rooftop.... from up there, one can see the beginning of it... and the path it takes to reach the end ((God)). For us...we are IN the parade and we just keep moving along, not seeing the end, but knowing it's there. He knows our free choice because in eternity, we've already made it. He's already watched the parade! Of course... it's hard for us to comprehend it... because we're so 2D in our thought processes!
But truth and faith take us 3D! because.....

God isn't a liar. If He says the price is accepting the death of Jesus through repentance and then learning to walk in relationship with Him... then it is enough.

I think most people get 'stuck' because they don't take every thought captive, as the scripture says we are to do (2 Corinthians 10:5). When we align with beliefs (lies) of the enemy, we essentially curse ourselves (we're either found faithful in the Word or in opposition to it). Every thought that enters our mind isn't our own.... it's either us, God or the enemy.

Sometimes we need to evaluate ourselves....lemme help you by breaking down some of what you wrote… to it's core:

[I am an addict and therefore a man of the flesh ((self curse/lie of enemy)) and not one of the spirit ((self curse/lie of enemy)). God therefore cannot save me ((self curse/lie of enemy)) nor has he ((self curse/lie of enemy)). I haven't felt him in my life in years ((You. this is good honest sharing in this sentence)). My prayers are not righteous or effective ((self curse/lie of enemy))! I feel forsaken ((You. good to share)) as this was not the life I willingly choose ((blaming, self curse/lie of enemy))!]

Remember the scripture.... "from out of the mouth the heart speaks" (Luke 6:45)?? But wait... don't feel like crap...we can make it right again instead of allowing the enemy to condemn us...

How do we transform into His image? We take those LIES and repent of any we have embraced by the benchmark of the Word of God. Then we conform day by day (this ain't no overnight process!!!!) ---by taking time to spend with God in His Word... soaking and learning what He has to say about stuff-- and praying and then expecting replies to our questions etc. This is what a relationship is about. If we'd rather spend all our time doing worldly things, believing every lie that pops into our heads and spending no time in the Word... or considering that the truths and promises are for real... then that's just not a relationship. I'm married and lemme tell ya.... it's a 2 way street! It is the same with Father God. It's the same with earthly friendships.... we don't ignore or dis our friends!

Remember the story of the rich young ruler? ( Matthew 19:16-22; Mark 10:17-31; Luke 18:18-30) He wanted to pop some pill...wanted a formula... but instead of seeing that's its relationship in Jesus... all he could do is slither away because he had too much invested materially in this life. He didn't want to invest in relationship.

You are perfectly fine.... you are wrestling... you know there is more & all you have to do is embrace it.

Sometimes the enemy beats us down so much that we lose sight of his tactics... we forget that he's the liar and God never changes in His perfect truth. So… get back up and start to pay attention to your thought life.

Do not anxiously look about you...

Ever look at a healing minister that's moving in amazing power and wonder, "How can I do that? They hardly do anything... there's no deliverance session... POW, the healing just happens!"

Well, there's a lot of stuff i don't understand either... but if it aligns with the scriptures than who am I to judge the anointing or calling another has? Some people move in major healing. My husband has the seer anointing but try as I might... I only see very little, but he doesn't have the things I've got! So can I be content that the body has many parts and we should function where we shine & not covet or feel 'less' in our own position?

It's not about position...it's about obedience, right?

Example: A grandma that has a gifting with kids is no less then a powerful healer....the gifts and calls are without repentance....so the powerful healer can continue to move as such even if they fall into disobedience.... but little ole' grandma could continue on and would end up with more reward in heaven for her obedience and faithfulness then the powerful healer!!!!

We truly cannot judge by comparison with others!

Jesus is our only bar...if we focus on Him, all else will follow.... if we spend all our time looking at humans the enemy will breed discontent within us and we will hop to and fro saying 'here's the Christ (anointing) there's the Christ (anointing)', but then fail to enter in to what He has uniquely for us.

Be assured in your high standing and calling in Christ Jesus... it's okay not to know everything. Just align with the Word, mind your own business and that which the Lord has 4 you!

‪Damnation in the Streets - My Thumbs Down‬

‪Throughout my life I've been on college campuses, been to rallies and watched hellfire condemnation preachers on video spewing judgment scriptures to the masses‬, with an unsettled churning of the Holy Spirit within. I mean, hey… this is the Word of God, it's got to be good, but why am I disturbed? It must be something wrong with me?

Many people struggle with this same 'feeling'; and I can't make up your mind for you, but what I can do is walk along with you to Emmaus and share the scriptures.

If we really sum up how Jesus operated 'in a nutshell'… He speaks out to the 'crowds' sharing wise parables that draw people in. He heals, delivers and miracles occur as further drawing proof that there is something special about this Man. Some really 'get it' and begin to follow Him… the ones that do so closely get the deeper revelation from those parables… they actually RECEIVE the talents in them and then later we note that He commissions them on to do likewise in more than preaching that the Kingdom of God is at hand, but they share in the manifestation power thereof as well.

As Jesus preached to the crowds (these parables), the 'religious' would come with questions of guile (an agenda) and Jesus would cut to the heart and deal with the religious sternly using the Word, and putting a mirror in front of those railers to shame them. He never railed or shamed sinners (Forgive them, for they know not what they do).

‪Jesus only preached to the masses in parables (Mark 4:34).... He only preached hellfire to those that claimed to be followers of YHWH (Matthew chapter 15).‬ Over and over we see in the life of Jesus that he showed love to sinners, by dining with them-- and who can forget the Mary Magdalene incident-- hellfire surrounded her and He delivered her from that fate!

Forgive them Father…
To understand Jesus' immense compassion with sinners is to understand that sin brings a curse and a veil that block people from receiving the Truth. The veil ‪must be removed before they can even receive the gospel. We'll note in 2 Corinthians 3:16, it says they have to TURN to the Lord BEFORE the veil is taken away. So again, let's look to our original role model of Jesus‬… He does this by non-threatening parables that stir peoples hearts to make a choice… He furthers stirs them by manifesting signs and wonders as further proof as well as exhibiting the fruit of the Spirit. ‪In His example we see that love breaks hardness... ...Jhn 13:35.‬ He is all things to all men and only shows an intolerance to those with guile in their hearts.

We are in days where the love of many is growing cold. People are spoiled, proud know-it-alls… they immediately put up a fence especially when being told to do something---be something, but when you come in humbly and address the things that help fix their brokenness-- those things that they've tried everything to fix, but only Jesus can fix-- this is beginning to understand the concept of 'by way of parable'.

But what about the Old Testament? Countless times we can note that the context of Judgment proclamations say they are FOR the people of God. Exceptions are Judgments of Nations--Kings… delivered by a Prophet. Do prophetic judgments and proclamations still go out?-- you know they do… but the problem is, is that everyone is quick to proclaim they are one and use it to feed their fire.

‪We can't even say that preaching judgment is a mandate if we KNOW it's coming! Lot didn't preach to the 'masses'... he went to his own: Gen 19:14--and almost got rejected!‬

If we KNOW God has told us to proclaim a message on the street corner, then we should do so, but if we make it a lifestyle a habit or feel guilty if we do not-- or others guilt-trip us for not doing so, we need to self examine because this is a serious 'Religious Spirit' red-flag.

WHEN RELIGIOUS SPIRITS SNEEK IN, YOU BEGIN TO SEE SOME, IF NOT ALL OF THESE MANIFEST:

(1) TENDENCY TO SEE MORE OF WHAT IS WRONG WITH OTHER PEOPLE OR OTHER CHURCHES THAN WHAT IS RIGHT WITH THEM

(2) TRYING TO FIX WHAT'S WRONG WITH OTHER PEOPLE AS IF THEY WERE APPOINTED BY GOD WITH THIS MISSION

(3) JEALOUSY/SUSPICION OF ANYTHING OUTSIDE THEIR BOX

(4) A PRIDEFUL SENSE OF BEING CLOSER TO GOD THAN OTHER PEOPLE

(5) MECHANIZED PRAYER LIFE

(6) COMPARING ONESELF WITH OTHERS

(7) DO MORE/FEEL BETTER=KEEPING SCORE

(8) SEEKING NOTICE AND ACCEPTANCE OF MAN

(9) GLORYING MORE IN WHAT GOD HAS DONE IN THE PAST THAT WHAT HE IS DOING IN THE PRESENT

(10) OUTWARD CEREMONY AND RITUAL BUT THEY OFFER NO POWER FOR A CHANGED LIFE

We know that our battle is not with flesh and blood (Ephesians 6:12), so I find this 'in your face' approach in damning sin and preaching judgment without actually contending with the spiritual problem in a region, a real work of the flesh contrivance. Remember… the veil needs broken over the people so they can receive the gospel. If there are areas that breed sin, it is far more effective to keep one's mouth shut and instead prayer-walk and claim those areas for Christ. How many 'Prophets' actually deal with hitting the veil? Real 'Prophets' are like icebergs behind the scenes in breaking the prince & powers that hold the regions captive.

Sad that hellfire preachers condemn Christians that 'love as Jesus did', calling us weenies that are fearful of 'persecution' -- but it makes sense, as the religious of Jesus' day were the ones that killed Him.

How do we know when speaking in tongues is of God and Not of satan?

I know.... there are so many people out there freaking out about this thing called 'kundalini spirit' and they use that to completely axe speaking in tongues altogether...using it in their doctrines of: "tongues was only for the book of Acts and now it's ceased to exist."

And isn't that what the devil wants to do.... if Jesus imparted us POWER and it (tongues) is one of the manifestations of that power... the devil just wants to steal any ability to stop him, and tongues is a huge thing that does cripple him, because we become a conduit for the Lord's battle... using the words that the Holy Spirit provides-- ie. 'perfect prayer'.

If we have concern for ourselves, in truly speaking in tongues.... in this playlist I promote, Derek Prince talks about if we ask for tongues we'll get it and we don't have to worry that it's something else, because it's simply not biblical to ask for something 'good' from Father God and to then receive something bad! --His character is unchanging:

The other thing we should be aware of is that if we have concern for ourselves because our thought life is telling us we are in error... we KNOW the enemy comes to kill, steal and destroy... we KNOW that 'liar and robber' would like to get us to believe that we are wrong-- push us into 'fear'. So, paying attention to where this 'concern' is coming from and taking it captive and professing the Word that you know to be TRUE is paramount!

Hearing it in others...all we have to go by is what we see in the scriptures.... then by what bears in our own spirits-- is it a feeling of 'darkness' or are we allowing fear to come in us because we don't know? And, this is a big thing, because if we don't know, we have to ask God to show us, because if we're not 'double minded', and truly seeking Him, He WILL NOT keep us in the dark about it--- that's just not scriptural. He gives us fish, not rocks!

One thing that can be done, if you are in the presence of questionable tongue speaking activity... is to use your authority and bind anything that doesn't exalt Jesus Christ etc. ---for what you bind is bound..... then of course.... loose the truth of God, etc. We really do have power to shut the darkness up. If we pray targeting spirit.... we can't get over into witchcraft and be targeting people.... just declare the truth of God.

After binding the enemy from operation and then loosing God's power... Praise is the natural nail in the coffin for any unwelcome enemy operation in a meeting. If you are leading the meeting you can actually do all of this discreetly and guide the meeting to flow in this pattern. If you aren't 'leading', you can still bind and loose, though you may not have power to shift over into Praise (pray for an opportunity to suggest it, especially if the Lord is giving you a song... as He is probably doing the same with someone else who will '2nd your emotion'). The same can be done if a 'religious spirit' shows up, or 'divination' tries to operate prophetically. When the Holy Spirit within you raises that red flag, there is no need to point fingers and shut someone up, to make some 'big scene' that will backfire upon yourself (the enemy will make you look jealous or prideful if you deal with it in the flesh - and this is devastating because it then makes that 'wrong spirit' look 'good'!!!)... you deal with 'spirit' spiritually. You HAVE the authority, now USE it!

Reflection on the Armor of God

I feel it's more of a lifestyle choice...like actually living it out. We have to 'take' and 'put on' these things...which is: to do them.
picture:  http://www.flickr.com/photos/boomya/3150539541/
1. belt of truth...
(In bible days the guys wore the dress-type garb... so anytime they'd get ready to do big labor, they'd gather up the loose-hanging parts above their knees, fastening it to belt around their waist.---so 'gird up your loins')
So too, we must gather up and fasten anything up; anything potentially impeding our freedom to follow Jesus when we are getting ready to 'dig in'. Where do we find truth? The bible, of course.

2. breastplate of righteousness...
The breastplate covers the heart... more than 'righteous acts'... even sinners can do those... but it's a condition of the heart...sincerity to seek to be holy as He is holy.

3. shoes of peace...
We know we must bear good fruit in being peaceable...in turning the cheek... but we must also be willing to MOVE (shoes) when He impresses us to share the gospel. This speaks of obedience.

4. shield of faith...
You want the shield? You get your 'faith on'. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God... nuff said.

5. helmet of salvation...
Doing what the Word says.... 'taking every thought captive'. Helmet is also called 'the hope of salvation' (1 Thes. 5:8)-- so a consistent and positive hope...in the Word of God, of course. Love hopes all things, believes all things...love never fails...

6. sword of spirit - word of God...

Version used for 'word' is 'rhema' in the greek= 'spoken word'. So, actively using it when attacks come.

-------------------
Many people promote suiting up with an 'Armor of God' prayer every day, but we have to be careful that it doesn't turn into a nice 'magic pill' prayer, LOL. Again, I'm emphasizing a lifestyle of change and conformity over rote prayers!

... But really... if we're sincerely seeking God... and realizing that He said it's simple, in that a child could 'get it', we just need to pray earnestly, get in His Word and have relationship with Him... and as we do those basic foundational things... we begin to change and conform to His image.

I look at each one above and it simplifies as such:
1. Get in the Word,
2. Seek earnestly to be holy,
3. Be obedient,
4. Trust/faith makes us stand firm,
5. No matter how things appear, or what we are told...we will believe the Word above all,
6. If everything above is in motion...we confidently can speak the Word and just like Jesus speaking it to shut satan down in the desert, suddenly we move from defense to offense.

See how it is kind of a process as well? Some people only go so far... only read the Word, but don't desire to commune with God... so when trial comes they can't hold the shield up because they don't 'trust', and so on...
We need to make it all a lifestyle... if any part is missing we aren't effective because there is a measure of 'fear' of potential wounding there---fear of defeat. But, having it all with the sword, we actually advance! The ones that are properly equipped in all this are the ones that shall 'do greater works than these'!!
Are You excited??? !!!

The Four Horsemen by Glen Campbell & End Time Encouragement

The Four Horsemen by Glen Campbell - Album "Show Me Your Way" [New Haven] (1991)

A song based on Revelation chapter 6 in the Bible.

The footage is from a 2010 fall vacation to the caves at Ruby Falls at Lookout Mountain --Chattanooga, TN. Incredibly, after I came home from the trip, most of the footage was 'missing', so I only used a small clip in a Psalm 91 video. Today I was extracting an entirely different set of video and to my surprise... the 'missing' cave footage was suddenly there! I realized, had that footage been there earlier, I would've used it on something else, but God has a time and season for everything!....

As soon as I opened it, I got this old song in my head (I'm not a 'country' song lover, but this song is powerful) and remembered at the end of the song it talks about going into the mountains and crying 'fall on us'. This of course is a scary thing... IF you don't know Jesus! Imagine being in a cave, BUT in the dark! Yuk!

We know 'ugly' times are coming...even horrific... but will you cling to Him now when the 'wood is green'? Will you press in, deny your flesh and lay up your treasure in Heaven? Will you press in so that even now you can hear His voice clearly, so that when terror comes you can be a bulwark of Hope to draw people to Christ in those desperate times?

We do not know the day nor hour, so be wise and prepare to win souls. He promises to keep His own, but that doesn't mean we'll be sitting on a cloud chowing on bon bons!

Would your faith fall apart if you really had to pray for your daily bread? Would hardship and loss find your faith shipwreck? Do you crab and whine now?!!!

BE PREPARED. BE GRATEFUL. GET CLOSE!

LYRICS:

And I saw the white horse, ridden by a man with bow and arrow.
And he wore a golden crown
and he rode a trail so narrow.

And he went forth to conquer all the liars, thieves and cheaters;
all the weavers of illusion;
all the bigots and mistreaters;
and the earth was shakin' like an old man's hand and the sun was black as mud;
and the oceans moved across the land and the moon became as blood.

And I saw a red horse and a rider with a saber;
to take peace from all the earth
for destruction was his labor.
And he rode out in anger to turn brother against brother;
with poison for the nations to make them all kill one another.
And the stars of heaven fell to earth like the fruit of a tree that's shaken;
by an unkindly wind, to be ever more forsaken.

And I saw the black horse and the rider with the balance;
to separate the works of man; his vices from his talents.
A measure of wheat for a penny
Three measures of barley in kind
To divide the one from the many
But hurt not the oil and wine
And the heavens parted like a scroll
When it is rolled together.
And the mountains were moved out of place
Like a whirlwind blows a feather.

And I saw a pale horse
And Death was riding on him
And Hell was right behind him
And no mortal man outshone him.

The kings of the earth and the mighty men
The glorious and greedy
Hid themselves in the blackest hole
with the homeless and the needy.
And some priests and some television preachers
Laid down with the vile unholy
And some senators and movie stars
shared a cave with the meek and lowly.

Chorus
And they cried to the mountains
Fall on us!
And hide us from the face of Him
Fall on us!
And hide us from the face
Hide us from the face of HIM

Repeat Chorus
