I fell asleep early last night... and then woke early.
I went to the computer and was drawn to watch a film about the devastating Tsunami of 2004.
In the back of my mind I was reminded of my son coming to me over the weekend; telling me of a dream of water flooding into the house.
...and then also a dream forum post where amidst symbolism of air strike and earthquake surmising... was mention of a tsunami.
I was wondering... "are you saying something here Lord?"
I squeezed some tears & said, "I know bad stuff is coming Lord."
And then He reminded me of the first thing I saw when I went to my computer...
...an email.
I was reminded of the quote by Derek Prince that leapt off the page to me...

I went back to sleep and the next time I went to the computer I received a 'watch this video'... and when I went to see it... a video response to it was some of the very footage from the 2004 tsunami!
Videos I view are not listed under my 'activity'... I'd not even commented on the tsunami videos and yet here they are 'flooding me'.
Is one coming?
I don't know, but I was very heavy with the magnitude of death and loss from the 2004 tsunami...
• killing over 230,000 people...
• inundating coastal communities with waves up to 30 meters (98 ft) high
• one of the deadliest natural disasters in recorded history
• the third largest earthquake ever recorded on a seismograph
• had the longest duration of faulting ever observed, between 8.3 and 10 minutes
• nearly all of the victims were taken completely by surprise

This is me praying after all this.
What does this Mouse trap have to do with anything?? It's all about Ecclesiastes!
The
book of Ecclesiastes sure can sound like a 'drag', if you only
piece-meal through it, but if you embrace it and slowly absorb it in you
can begin to understand the big picture. God is sovereign, He created
us & we have a purpose...if we don't see the big picture, our lives
get swallowed up in meaninglessness, and we don't get to enjoy it.
When
looking at the mouse film, you find yourself cringing with anxiety as
the mouse dances all around the trap; even eats the peanut butter right
off of it. In the end the mouse got spooked and thought it was a good
place to land--- ironic isn't it? I like to look at this flick for it's
parable message-- although it's not pretty and animal rights people may
'boo'...I don't care, Auschwitz wasn't pretty either. Death is not
pretty, get over it...dark days are ahead.
Ecclesiastes 9
12 Moreover, no man knows when his hour will come: As fish are caught in a cruel net, or birds are taken in a snare, so men are trapped by evil times that fall unexpectedly upon them.
For
some, you can identify with the mouse trap as representing 'Sin'. The
way of sin is wide, alluring... offering a free taste and the
consequences unto death. And true, we find and have found ourselves
dancing all around it, but in the end it can swallow us up unless we
repent and do a 180ยบ. But I like to look at it from an Ecclesiastes
viewpoint.... as death.
We
are placed inside of time, where we have a beginning and we move
towards a physical ending. We don't know when it's gonna happen, but
it's there, it's waiting. If we consume ourselves with worry over it,
it's closer to us than we can know.
There
are so many things out there that I see Christians out there getting
wrapped up in that have a root of fear and self-preservation instead of
Praising God, casting our cares upon Him and enjoying this wonderful
thing called 'life'.
Conspiracy
theories, end-time stock piling & bomb shelters and what-have-you.
You know I don't have a problem with people doing things that GOD tells
them, but can you discern the spirit behind the bulk of this
mentality? Can you see what it does? You end up digging deeper and
deeper into heady knowledge and reliance on 'being prepared', or
blabbing about New World Orders and less about conforming into the image
of Christ and moving in greater works. Is Jesus our all-consuming
fire? If our eyes are on Him and our ears are listening to Him....it's
simple, we don't waste time and we get to enjoy life.
Geez
it would suck to build some super-duper bomb shelter, have it all
equipped but then in the final analysis the whole area it was built in
had a major shift and became a flood plain... this is the stuff of
Ecclesiastes. Toil without asking God or seeking Him in all things end
up in failure. You have to learn to trust Him.
You
know in the 'Minority Report' movie---put it on your movie list so this
makes sense......When Tom has the pre-cog out in the mall...and she
directs every move & Tom Cruise has to trust her? ...And it's a
scary thing....but it works. I'm feel'in we're headed towards that in
Him. If we're not obedient to act on what He tells us-- no matter how
impulsive or unexpected it seems... that's when terror hits.
Last
night the Lord showed me a kind of end-time dream that really
illustrated this-- in the context of asking Him about doing this
teaching-- I feel the dream related to that, not as a prophetic thing to
happen in the future per se.
In
the dream there was some kind of martial law and I knew I was
fugitive. There were troops everywhere, and I was thick in the midst of
them, but every time it seemed I'd get caught, something would happen,
even an act of God and then, there would be a safe way out for me.
Ecclesiastes 8
5 Whoever obeys his command will come to no harm, and the wise heart will know the proper time and procedure.
6 For there is a proper time and procedure for every matter, though a man's misery weighs heavily upon him.
7 Since no man knows the future, who can tell him what is to come?
8 No man has power over the wind to contain it; so no one has power over the day of his death.
"Whoever
obeys his command will come to no harm....", it's that same point that
Father God is driving home. Now is the day to get real with God, be
zealous in getting closer into relationship with Him so we can learn to
hear Him clearly & turn on a dime. Just like in 'Minority Report',
"...get an umbrella...drop the man change...wait for the balloons..."
God is outside of time and has a course for us. That fear thing gets
caught up in man-contrived how to survive strategies, which, as we know
can be very exhausting...woo, make a bomb shelter, woo learn how to
decontaminate water, clean air, store food.. yadda da. Instead, if He
cares for the birds of the air.... if we're really pressing in & if
His word is really true...He'll tell us what to do & we'll be cared
for. And if we're doing what we're supposed to because we believe and
trust Him... we'll be doing great exploits. Even if our path is to give
all... if we are so consumed by Him it won't matter, like it didn't
matter to Saint Stephen.
