What is the 'Unpardonable' Sin?

Matthew 12:31  “Therefore I say to you, any sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven people, but blasphemy against the Spirit shall not be forgiven."

"Unpardonable" is attributing the things of God to be of satan.  We know this clearly because of the context of the scripture surrounding that passage.  In verses 22-28, Jesus had just healed a demon-possessed, blind and mute man, the crowds being amazed actually said,

“This man cannot be the Son of David, can he?” (v.23)

Such talk has no reception amongst a proud 'know-it-all' Pharisee... after all, only THEY would recognize any 'Christ' first! 

"But when the Pharisees heard this, they said, “This man casts out demons only by Beelzebul the ruler of the demons.” (v.24)

Some have feared that speaking the Lord's name in vain is such a sin, but in the context of the Word, we see that it's clearly rejecting the very heart of God.  Further on, Jesus teaches that,

“Either make the tree good and its fruit good, or make the tree bad and its fruit bad; for the tree is known by its fruit." (v. 33)

Now there is a difference between just not understanding, or a burst of frustration and it thoughtlessly comes out and leads to an 'I'm sorry, Lord', repentance vs. actually knowing that it bears good fruit  and aligns with the Word of God and the person commits the unpardonable by damning these good things because of pride in a wrong doctrine…and that's what it essentially is…. people doing just what they did to Jesus who hurt their 'pride' and so they decided to vilify and kill Him instead of test and consider.  God can do nothing with a proud heart and it was satan's big crime…and so that's what this 'unpardonable' sin is really about.

God wants our hearts... He doesn't want lip-service... and He'll use the weakest or even strangest of circumstances to test if we really will check the fruit.  You've heard, "study to show thyself an approved workman...", well the ultimate test is "do we recognize Him"?  You can bet He's watching OUR fruit!

Feast of Trumpets 2009 Word - "Test Day"

Test day.

I had a dream of being in school & at the biology room where it was 'test day'. I was nervous of how I'd do but then the teacher explained that the final score for the class was based on the combined score... the average of all the tests combined --that's just how it normally is LOL, BUT what was interesting was it was always the same test to be taken, so I was optimistic that each time I'd get an improvement.

I believe the test answers are to reflect LIFE...isn't that what it's always been? And the Biology room-- also called Life Sciences, points to something experiential that we must endure.

Deu 30:19"I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before you life and death, the blessing and the curse. So choose life in order that you may live, you and your descendants,..."

But it's more than LIFE....

It goes on in the next verse in Deu 30:20 to say:"...by loving the LORD your God, by obeying His voice, and by holding fast to Him; for this is your life and the length of your days, that you may live in the land which the LORD swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give them."

WARNING: Tests are coming!--- Duh!...nothing new under the sun.... we need to turn our face to God as a nation here. But hey...you...people that call yourselves children of God, how do you view these 'tests'? Do you look at them with anxiety and fear or do you look at them with optimism...as a chance to refine and improve?

God is speaking to us church!

Have you ever had to hand wash an article of clothing before? Now c'mon, you don't just put soap on there & wring it together one time & rinse. No. If you've done this before you know this is a process...a rinse, repeat, maybe some soaking in between... but you do it til' the spots are gone or you have to throw out the garment or use it as a rag because else the haze of that spot would be embarrassing. Are you listening here?
Without spot or wrinkle. Are we looking forward to getting out that spot?
You better look forward to it... "Whom the Lord loves He chastens, and scourges every son whom He receives." -Hebrews 12:6
Did you know that is our wedding garment and you have 2 choices.... get out that spot or throw the garment away. But don't you know you're not going to be able to just pick another one up at the store...nope, the store is closed. With each rinse and repeat....with Joy....we should be exclaiming....see, look here, you can't see it so much, it's going away---get out the soap and enthusiastically wash it again...

Didn't you know Jesus is an environmentalist? He doesn't like to throw anything away. Everything in His plan has purpose-- even those seeming bad or hard times. As the sun is setting & the light is fading...Oh, look here....I can still see this spot when I hold it at an angle, let's get out that soap again.... we'll get it this time. We have to get it out before all the light is gone and then I won't be able to tell anymore.... the garment has to be spotless and then dry overnight...

No, the ones that are too proud & think they know it all think they'll just pick up another garment at the store--- whoops, that was wrong revelation, i'll just pick and choose one of the other flavors here in the cheese case.... but that's not how it's going to be, is it? You can't even buy oil this late... every man to his own lamp! Do you have your own relationship with Jesus?
