The Gift More Than The Giver

The Question:
"I was doing something yesterday and you popped up in my mind. I tried doing it once and am going to do it again when I sleep. I'm try to have an out of body experience and wanted your guidance on how to achieve it. I want to see visions I want this. If you have any audios that help or anything you could tell me that will help me get this experience would be great."
Unfortunately, God will often pop me into people's minds for the purpose of correction, because I won't candy-coat what people need to hear...

My Response:
That's new age... We don't seek after that stuff. Christians that have amazing experiences are because they seek holiness, conforming to Christ, humility--- walking the talk.  Special experiences are a gift of obedience. If we seek these experiences more that communion with Jesus, we are missing the mark, and that's what witchcraft is.... "I want this!".

"But I am afraid that, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, your minds will be led astray from the simplicity and purity of devotion to Christ." 2Cor. 11:3
Satan is happy to give us all our flesh wants right here,  right now.   It's hard now carrying the cross, but we must hang on to His promises-  heaven.

I tried 'automatic writing' once--- calling upon 'jesus' to 'guide' me; before I was born again. Funny how we think we can go after something in a very wrong way, but apply a little white-washing to it to deceive our 'righteous' selves.  In the scriptures it talks of the spirit of 'another Jesus'...satan is happy to disguise... If we want things apart from God we get satan.

"For if one comes and preaches another Jesus whom we have not preached, or you receive a different spirit which you have not received..." 2Cor. 11:4a
K.I.S.S.:
2 Corinthians 11:3 is a good reminder in that we need to keep it simple.  Carnal man wants a show, fireworks, ritual, accolades and the like; but we know:  "God opposes the proud
but shows favor to the humble." James 4:6, Proverbs 3:34, 1Peter 5:5

It's not about anything but Jesus.  Simple devotion.  The simplicity in implementing the Word into our life as manifest purity.
"But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you."  Matt. 6:33
Even if you lead a pure life and don't have 'special experiences', does that bruise your ego or does it press you in further for the desire of heaven?  Heaven is where 'it's at' and with Him our focus.
So if you've been a bit impatient, turn around, repent and start again.   Trust me, it's worth the wait!
